Zaino can certainly be appied in the sun, but the thing to remember is that it will be a little harder to spread thin since the sun's heat rapidly dries it on the surface. So, just try to spread it quickly with a damp applicator, or you'll end up using more polish... Other than that, it's perfectly fine and safe to apply in direct sun...

Recently got a bottle of the new reformulated Z-5. Says on the back to use it on a cool surface, which it never said on the old bottles. It would be kinda hard to use it on a cool surface in the sun. Is this just for premature drying/spreadability concerns?

I was wondering the same thing...I didn't put Z-5 on my car last weekend because I figured it was too hot...since then it hasn't been so nice, so I have z-1 and z-2 so far...I hate living in WASHington State grrrrrr...

It is much easier to spread evenly and in thin layers if the surface is cool. Being applied in the sun doesn't affect the Zaino, but it is harder, especially for someone less experienced, to get it applied evenly in the sun on a hot surface.
