Megires 3 Step.

Alright so i have a car show comeing up this weekend and i plan on detailing my car. I would like to use Zanio but i dont have time to order the stuff, since Meguires is an OTC product, i will be using it. I have the Meguires 3 step kit and the Meguires claybar kit.

I just got a fresh Black repaint and clearcoat in October of 05 and this will be my first wax since then. I also have a few swirls in the paint. I have a cheap orbital buffer, the walmart kind, should i use this to save my arms a little.

Here is what i plan on doing.
1. Wash the car with dawn.
2. Claybar with the detal spray they included.
3. Wash car with meguires deep crystal wash and dry the car with waterblade and chamois.
4. Use the step 1 Paint cleaner.
5. Use the step 2 Polish.
6. Use the step 3 Carnauba wax.
7. Then before the show, use the detailer spray.

Does this sound about right, and should i repeat or layer any of the products?

I will have some before and after pics up when i get done. And for the record i will be getting a real orbital buffer and i will be useing Zanio after this, i just didnt have time this time.

Re: Megires 3 Step.

i would personnaly stay away from the water blade and chamois. i use microfiber towels for drying. usually takes about 2 or 3 towels to dry , but they DO NOT scratch the paint. chamois and waterblades have no nap to catch any dirt particles so it is very possible to leave scratches. other than that it seems like you have everything in order. on another note i wouldnt bother paying the money for zaino. i bought it, tried it, did everything they say to do and within 2 washes the protection they claim lasts a long time was gone. you will be more than happy with the Meguires deep crystal system, especially on black. thats what i switched to and will probly continue to use. how can you go wrong at less that $25 for the whole system? sorry fo the long post but this is an area i love to discuss. good luck with your show

Yeah, ive got plenty of micro fiber towels so I might try drying my car with them to see how it works out. I useually just let it dry useing that Mr Clean Autodry stuff.

Re: Megires 3 Step.

Ive got another question.

This stuff doesnt say that it is clear coat safe.

Is this stuff going to harm/damage/ or remove my fresh clear coat that i got in October 05.

If it will, im just going to use something different.

There should be a number on the back of the bottle for Meguiar's. I would call that and it will put you in touch with there tech support guys. I have dealt with them a few times and they are always very helpful and polite.
