Question Long Term Paint Care?

I am in college and my car is being stored for six months out of the year. In August I claybared it and gave it a nice cleaning. It is under a car cover so that no dust would collect on it, but recently when I went to go start it I noticed that the paint didn't seem to feel as smooth as it did when I left it. Should I be washing the car periodically or is it fine the way it is?

How often do you wax the car? It really shouldn't need much washing if it's under a good cover. You might want to give it a good coat or two of wax though before you store it away. This will help protect the finish from having particles bond directly to the paint surface, and should keep it slicker too. You can use a good quick detailing spray or a Cali Car Duster as well to keep it slick and remove any light soiling.
