Keeping Underhood Bare Metal Nice?

Last year, when I had my intake out to fix the little oil leak in the back, I painted my intake red and use emery paper to make the runners on the intake look nice and shiny. A year later, the runners have tarnished and turned whitish. I just got a MBA radiator shroud and was wondering what kind of coating I could put on both these areas to keep this from happening. Maybe a coat of fluid film? I'm just looking for something that will keep it relatively clean or easy to wipe off dirt during regular use, even if its something I need to add once and a while like a wax. I did a search and came up with nothing.

Any thoughts?

Check out Zoops Seal. They sell it at Summit. A buddy of mine recommended it. IIRC, the stuff is a polish that also seals the surface, so it might be just what you're looking for.
