Keeping new wheels "new"

I just purchased an extra set of wheels, factory painted ones, for my Z28. What is the best thing to apply to the inside of the rim to aid in cleaning the future brake dust and road grime that will accumulate? Have thought about just waxing the inside but figure the heat generated will melt that protection in no time. Another thought was some type of cooking spray... Any ideas? Or is this just one of those jobs that's going to be a PITA regardless of what you do?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I take my wheels off my cars once or twice a year and clean them good, your right about carnauba waxes melting (at about 140 degrees) A good synthetic product like Zaino, to name one will protect to over 500 degrees, it holds up great on wheels.
