First off, you should identify what is causing the scratches when you are drying and this is the BEST preventer for future problems. Is it your wash mitt, towels, sponge, etc.....that may be causing the problems? Or, is the car completely clean when you wipe it down or is there some light dust, dirt, etc? Just some things to think about....

Anyhow, if you have Zaino Z5 for swirl marks, try 1-3 coats of this first before you have use abrasives. Since Z5 is nonabrasive it will not actually "remove" the scratches, but it will fill them in gradually. If this does not help, you will need an abrasive like 3M SMR #39009 or something similar in nature. Once you restore the finish to perfection, it's much easier to use premium detailing tools like premium toweling, microfiber, etc, to keep you swirl free.

FieldCrest towels are always good for drying cars. I also like to use the California Water Blade and sometimes a leaf blower

Specifically, what kind of towels are they? Brand? Where purchased? etc....

I would recommend either using high quality cotton toweling, like the Fieldcrest, premium high quality microfiber, the Absorber, leaf blower, etc.... I personally use the Absorber and Microfiber and love it!
