Gunk on the windows - what could it be?

Hi all,

A couple of days ago I noticed a blotchy white film on my drivers side window (inside only and covering the entire window). It would not come off with just a cleaning with glass cleaner and cloth. I had to actually scrub it with some glass cleaner wipes after which I had to wipe it over with a clean cloth/paper towels. And it's as if the more I scrubbed it, it would start to clump together, fall off the window in a fine powder/crystals on the cloth and door panel.

Any suggestions as to what this stuff could be? I'm gonna see if it comes back again over the next couple of weeks. Hopefully not - it took me almost 30 minutes just to clean the inside of one window.

For what it's worth, my windows are tinted.

Thx everyone.

You have soap residue on your tinted windows. I had soapy water leak into my car from a pressure washer.

Don't clean it with soap, it'll compound the problem. Water spreads it around. I had the most success in taking about 10 minutes to rub it off with a dry cloth. I'd be careful about using any product on your tint.
