Good day for a workout!

So me and a friend have been talking more and more about these clay bars yeah? I decided today was a good day to give it a whirl! Took me a good 3 to 4 hours to wash, dry and claybar the car. It still needs a coat of wax, just waiting on the sun to go down a bit to where the car is in shade.

Anyways, here are a few before and after pics, enjoy!

and after claying the car (still needs waxed, its noon and the sun is beating down on the car )

I was VERY happy with the results of the claybar, and as much as this fatboy doesn't like to do such manual labor, its nice to see it shine like it never has since I've owned it

Those birds made your car into a good source of target practice in the before shots. It cleaned up nicely, I love the hood.

your car looks good.

I'm going to try that "ice" stuff from Turtle wax (I think)... Paint surface feels kinda rough right now.

Turtle Wax Ice will not help with the feel of your paint. The paint feels rough because contamination has bonded onto the surface. Get come clay, that will help.

Thanks, the hood was one of the final deciding decisions to buy this car! And yeah, that is one big reason why I hate parking in the driveway. But I would rather have birds bombing my car instead of an idiot flying up or down my hill and giving me a bit of their paint.

Agreed. Waxing your car will make the paint feel somewhat smooth, but nothing like what the clay was. I was so impatient the other day that I clayed the spoiler before it started raining to see what it does, and you could glide your hand across the paint so easily. Was almost like touching ice.

Your car looks nice! Thats my favorite hood for those cars. Definatly time for some new rims with that hood.
Yea, the clay bar works great. I go over my cars with it a couple times of year with it.

Claybar days are indeed VERY rewarding. Great job and nice lookin Z! I was hoping by chance you know what manufacturer made the hood if their is ANY indication under the hood that would be great. I fell in love with that hood years ago but was afraid of fitment issues. The fitment on yours is damn near perfect from the pics! I'd order 2!

Thanks!

It's made by American Sports Car Designs, it's called the big block/stinger hood.
