Getting rid of swirls?
Getting rid of swirls?
Hey, I just bought a 3rd Gen Z28. Its black and in pretty good shape. The paint has those swirls in it or spider webs what ever you prefer to call it. What would be good to get those out? I'm willing to use a ton of elbow grease.
Re: Getting rid of swirls?
Spider webs are incurable, except for a repaint. Sad to say, but that's the way it is. My dad has one on his back bumper and yea, they look bad.
For just swirls in the paint, get 3M Swirl Remover for Dark Colored Cars. It works pretty well.

Re: Getting rid of swirls?
There is a difference in spider webs and spider cracks.
I believe RedAssassin is referring to spider webs (swirling), and I believe unvc92camarors is referring to spider cracking where the paint actually cracks and breaks/chips.
A good paint polish or two should remove most of your swirling problems. You should be able to find some 3M polishes locally...others to look at are Menzerna, Einszett, etc., but those will work best with a orbital polisher or buffer.
