Finished painting car

Well, almost finished. I smashed a rear quarter a while back and replaced it. Since I had to paint that, I desided to go ahead and repaint the entire car and fix any imperfections on it (minor things like small sctatches and chips). And since I spun a rod bearing, I desided to paint the engine bay too. The things left to paint is everything I took off of it: hood, spoiler, front bumper cover, rear bumper cover and body kit. Those will be done today. Looks awesome. After everything is done then it all goes back together and then I will do a good sanding and buffing.

Re: Finished painting car

not yey....it is still in pieces. I got the rest of it painted and cleared yesterday. Now all i need to do is paint the things black that need to be black (headlight area, fog light area, between t-tops and back hatch) and then paint my stripes. Then when everything is put back together i will take pics. Don't want to keep anybody waiting but she is in no shape right now for a photo shoot.

Re: Finished painting car

Quick update.....I got everything but my side ground effects painted. I got the thing painted black that needed to be black and I got the stripes painted on everything except the hood (I have to put another coat of red on the hood). She is looking good. After everything is painted, I will put it all back together, and then comes the fun stuff.......wet sanding with 2000 grit sand paper and buffing it out. I did buff out the front right fender and she is going to look good. I can't wait.

Re: Finished painting car

Did you paint it yourself, or hire a body shop?
I just picked mine up on Friday from the shop. I'm in the midst of reassembling it now. Total cost for paint: $1080 for materials, $3800 for labor.
Same deal, total disassembly, complete repaint. I'm going to try to reinstall the weatherstrips for the T-tops tonight.

Re: Finished painting car

i did it all myself in my shop. It only cost me around $500 for 3 qts of Flame Red (factory color), 1 pint black, 1 pint white, and a gallon of clear. I use Dupont Chroma Vision paint and clear. Really nice paint. I was going to go with House of Colors but they offer only a custom line so it couldn't be matched to the original color.
