Is factory gm paint lacquer or enamel?

Is factory gm paint lacquer or enamel?

I'm just wondering because touch up paint is lacquer so I'd guess the factory paint is also lacquer.

all factory is base/clear.

factory is urethane.

laquer is used on touchup bottles because it is easily repaintable and you can touch up overf those spots again. base/clear has a downside in that it can't really be repainted over. a lot of hotrod guys will repaint a section of their body parts after getting some nicks in them. with base/clear you can't really do that effectively because of the clearcoat. base/clear is much more chip resistant that laquer though
