"At the site, scroll down to search for tsbs, then use thier search on the right hand side to drill down to your specific model etc. It is the same TSB for 00, 01, & 02 ALL fbodies. Make sure to check the block for details after you enter the body structure, pillars info, but before you hit submit."
PJS TOY,
There is no "tsbs"........... What the hell?
I'm sorry, but this is very confusing. Would you please tell us step by step how to access the defect roof info for F-Bodies? I already had mine re-painted but I would like to know for my buddies. That site is very confusing and I did try to punch in the vehicle info and a window open but did not have "roof" or "body" in it.
Thanks

RAY66, there are about 10 steps here, so I understand your confusion. I have been using this site for several years and forgot what a pain it is to use.
1- Click on link
2- on new page, scroll down and click on "Search for Technical Service Bulletins (TSB)"
3- Scroll down new page to "Select the type of search" The default is set to Vehicle, click on Search for selected type.
4- On new page, use drop down to select year and click on Submit Year.
5- On new page, use drop down to select Make and click on Submit Make.
6- On new page, use drop down to select Model and click on Submit Model.
7- On new page, use drop down to select component. It is Structure Body: Roof and Pillars.Check the block for full summary and click on submit.
8- On new page, it is the first TSB. Click on the Document search button.
9- On the new page click on the new link.
10- The new page is a pdf file of the actual TSB. Print the TSB and have it handy when the dealer acts dumb about your problem. It is really funny to have them over a barrel for a change.
At step 7 you can choose not enter anything and the list of all TSBs will come up for your vehicle.
Also at step 2 you should check for recalls also.
RAY, I hope the puter has not locked up when I try to post this.
Hope this gets you to your info,
PJ
edit: just noticed that you had yours repainted already. Be aware I had mine done before this TSB was out and the bubbles just came up in other places. they will show up around all of the edges eventually. If you have a hard top like me, they show up on the lazy W on the roof too. Hard top guys will know what I mean.

Thanks PJS-TOY.....
Very weird indeed. Back about a year and half ago, I posted on all the Camaro Boards(LS-1, here, SLP Forum, etc.) about my problem with these "bubbles in the roof panel paint". I received a lot responses but nobody wanted to do anything about it. I went through a lot of personal, time consuming stuf. I went to my local dealer, Main Street Chevrolet-Gainesville, Florida and the Body Shop manager there acted dumb with me, then after I delivered my SS the day of my scheduled appointment he (body shop manager) told me, "Ray, today's a bad day, your gonna' have to bring your SS back next week". I got angry and now I'm the complicated customer? After being disappointed with my local Chevrolet dealer I then decided to make a visit to Palm Chevrolet's Body Shop in Ocala, Florida and I felt pretty good there. But they even played dumb with me. Bottom line, my 2001 SS got a new roof panel and yes, I have T-Tops. So far so good and I have not noticed any more bubbles, but I also have not parked the vehicle out in the sun too much either. Makes me so angry that GM or Chevrolet does no issue a public notice to Camaro/Firebird owners regarding this serious problem! Then, the dealer acts like your the jerk for having this problem! No wonder Americans refuse to buy F-Bodies anymore. My second vehicle is a 2001 Volvo S80-T6 and I love that car and my local Volvo dealer runs circles around Chevrolet.

RAY, if they put on a new top, they probably did per this TSB and just did not tell you. According to the GM engineer that I mentioned earlier, it was a material compatibility problem. GM changed suppliers for the roof panels in 99. The sealant was not changed and was not friendly to the new panels. Everywhere the sealant was in contact with the panel, there was a chemical reaction. The sun will not bother the new stuff and had nothing to do with the original problem. After my car was finally repaired, the body shop manager actually asked me to keep quite about the TSB. I did not bother to even tell him how I felt about such a statement. I am just letting my actions express my feelings about it. I hope everyone who has this problem sees this post and shows up with a copy of the TSB at thier favorite dealer.
BTW credit should really go to rcotton and his folks at WTFBA for posting the link to the LS1TECH article on this. Thanks Roger.
steps off soap box and logs out before the IT ***** get me.

I'm re-posting my quote to make sure every Camaro/Firebird owner will be aware of my situation.... and learn from it.
Have your dealer re-paint your roof and demand it be done right. Get everything in writing, make copies, Suggest to your body shop manager in simple direct english that you expect a perfect job and you want it done right within a reasonable time frame. Your dealer should have your vehicle an appointment within 2 weeks after you make them aware of the problem. Your Chevy body shop should have the roof done in no more than three business days. Ask if you can take before and after photos and call your your Attorney and tell him to "get ready".

"The sun will not bother the new stuff and had nothing to do with the original problem."
PJS-TOY- Your in error sir. The sun did cause the chemical reaction in my SS when I parked the car in the sun all day. The sun or the heat made the bubbles grow larger.....

PJS-TOY- Why didn't GM correct this problem before selling these vehicles to the general public? This is insane..... Also, what does that say about the character of your body shop manager when he asked you to, "keep quiet about this"? More insanity.
"folks at WTFBA for posting the link to the LS1TECH article on this. Thanks Roger."
PJS-TOY- who is the WTBA? I would very much like to see this thread over on the LS1TECH board. Give us the link.
PJS-TOY, Thanks for backing me on this. Your helping a lot of guys out there.
Peace

RAY, this will most likely be my last post on this issue.
As far as sun or chemical reation causing the problem. Who really cares at this point? The TSB has the fix regardless. I can tell you that a group of us here show our cars at national events. Mine is a daily driver and I have no garage, while my two friends 35th Anniverary SE's are trailer queens and only see daylight for shows. We all had the bubbles.
Why did GM not fix the problem before sale? Probably took time for the problem to show up? Oh, and it is GM.
As far as the character of that guy, you know what it says. "I am a company guy and I like feeding my family."
WTFBA is West Tennessee F Body Association.org
I did a search on LS1TECH. NO results, may have been lost when they were hacked. Also, remember, this was all about a year ago. The post that I saw had pictures of the actual replacement on the guys car. Try posting over there and see if the guy with the car is still over there. You may get more info that way. But why spend the time, we got that weasels by the short ones already.
So, this is about all the time and energy I have for this. Everyone has access to the information now, so print it out and go get your car fixed. We have beaten this to a pulp.
Happy Hunting,
PJ
