Engine Bay paint-Bring out color?

I've decided I need to make the engine bay look a little nicer. The engine bay paint is faded pretty bad and slightly discolored in a few spots. I'm wondering if there is a way to bring some of the color back. I tried some wax this afternoon but that did next to nothing.

And another picture for fun:

You probably won't be able to. most times the factory just shhots basecoat in the engine bay and at best uses what's called a jamming clear. It's designed as just a protective coat and nothing more.

Yah, just forget about trying to get an older engine bay look nice. It will drive you nuts. I found that cleaning out the leaves & crap and making sure there is no grease in plain sight is the best you can do.

Good looking ride by the way. Drop it about an inch!

Best thing you can do is clean it out, spray it down with some degreaser, but watch what your sprayin. And you cant get it shiny, like the other people said, but you can get it clean and when you do, keep it clean!

You'd be amazed how good your engine bay looks when you detail up all the rubber, hoses, etc... WD-40, and even brake cleaner make great aerosol detailers for under the hood. a little goes a long way too.

Thanks. I used 3M rubbing compounds, Zaino and a lot time. The paint is very thin so take your time.

...or I could just sell you my car.

Damn! Thought mine was clean! LOL I dont think mine could look that good though... my paint is like beyond thin under the hood, bunch of spots where I can almost see primer or base or what ever you want to call it.
