crazy waterspot problems

Thumbs down crazy waterspot problems

i have these water spots that only show up at a certain angle on my hood and front fenders. its really weird...nothing i do will take them away...i dont know what to do..are they even water? what wil take out??help.thanks

I used 3M Swirl Mark Remover and it took away all my water spots

Sounds like water etching to me.....which can be easy to remove or rather serious and difficult to remove. Just depends on the severity of the etching really.

I always had good luck with Meguiar's Body Scrub on hard water spotting. Like the poster above mentioned, a swirl remover such as 3M might also help, since it contains light abrasive. If either of these products do not work, you'll need a heavier abrasive. Possibly something like Meguiar's Fine Cut Cleaner, Meguiar's Dual Action Cleaner Polish, or 3M Fine Cut Compound would do the trick. I would save the compounds as a last resort though, because you would have to follow any compound up with at least one (or more) coats of swirl remover to repair the compounding area.

Start with the light abrasives and work to something heavier if need be.
