Post Bad rims - screwed by dealer - last chapter

I hope this is the last chapter. Hope that Mark and Jason read this, you guys have been most responsive to this.
Well, it goes on and on, you recall they took the rims off my 3-month old car and put it incorrectly on jack stands overnight, thereby screwing up all the alignments of front fender, hood, etc. I called GM and they promised to follow up with me and help me out with this problem. You are right, what a joke, never heard from them again. So the car has been back two more times for body work and now I am left with the rattles and squeeks they promised me. They are offering me some gas coupons and service coupons for the damage. The general manager of the dealership actually seems to be a decent guy but told me this is "no big deal", yet in the next breath told me he has a motorcycle that he paid $30,000 for and would be as upset as I am if this happened to him. Oh, yeah, he told me after this is all done he would like to have a relationship with us and is offering us a $500 coupon towards a future purchase (IN HIS DREAMS). I am taking it in one more time this coming Tuesday for them to try to find one particularly bad rattle, drives me nuts, but I don't expect a whole lot, if you know what I mean.
SO, what do you guys think? Throw in the towel and live with it? I don't see anything else to do at this point. I am coming to the conclusion that being mad about what happened is taking the pleasure out of my beautiful car and isn't that just defeating the purpose???
I guess that's it for now, I hope. Although if the rattles and squeeks get worse I will probably be looking for someone to beat the sh#t out of. . .
Thanks for your support and good ideas. Your thoughts are always appreciated and I have acted on them many times.

If you've had it back more than 3 times for the same problem, and it's still not fixed, I believe you will be covered by the federal and/or state lemon laws.

Contact your local authorities for more information. There is no reason you should be stuck with a broken car that the dealership both caused and cannot fix correctly. Don't accept it, the law has been made to protect you in this area!

Thanks, I guess I had not even thought of that for some time now, but you're right! Tomorrow will at least the third time I've had it back there for the damage they did. I hope I have the adrenalin flowing when I go in so I can resume the fight - I had mainly given up the battle.

Hey Rox, I'm just curious what happened with this fiasco. Did the lemon law cover your problems?

Hi, Solomon, I thought this topic was dead and buried. No, the lemon law seems not to apply to my situation in that squeeks and rattles and damaged fenders, etc., do not compromise the safety or driveability of the vehicle. So the situation still remains a fiasco. All I hear when I drive it now are the assorted noises that aren't supposed to be there. But I think I've taken it as far as I can. If I could afford it I would trade it for a new one and try to start all over with a new dealership but that's out of the question.
Interestly enough, however, I did get a call from the "quality control" (what a joke!)guy over at the dealership about a week ago and he said he had just seen the initial report on all of this stuff. He asked me to come down and review the situation with him
as he claimed he had never been made aware of what was going on. I wish I could have gone that day but wouldn't you know I had come down the the bug going around the community and couldn't make it. I hope to talk to him yet before I put the car into storage but that will have to be within a week as I am putting it away Thanksgiving day.
Thanks for your continued interest. If you have any more ideas, please let me know. Do you think this "quality control" person could do anything for me? It's really a discouraging situation.

I've only seen this thread so am not aware of what all you have done, but if I was you I would be calling GM Corporate more. If you ar emore persistent with them, they might do something about it.

Tell them you called, and was informed you would get a call back, 4 months later and you have heard nothing. It's time to be more demanding, as they're the ones who can actually get your problem fixed.

Hell, once you get some exhaust, poly bushings everywhere & a loud stereo in it you'll never notice it anymore.
