Any hope for keeping black cars clean?

Boy I tell ya, there ain't nothing like a perfectly clean, deep-shine, polished and waxed jet-black car. But man is it hard to keep that way.

At a cruise-in, someone barely grazes their arm on my car, or rests their hand on it, and a blatantly obvious print sticks out like a sore thumb on the paint. Besides telling people to not touch my car and being a complete ****, is there any way to help make light touches not show up on my car?

Note: the majority of the handprints on my car are there from girls posing on it to take pictures at our cruise-ins, so I don't really want to just say "no touch". Is there a specific type/amount of wax or agent that I can put on there? Anything? Or do I just have to deal with the fact that dust appears on my car at the drop of a hat?

You will need to use a California Car Duster, good long lasting polish/wax (www.zainobros.com) and make weekly car washings mandatory and use a detailer spray in between washes, and a garage is a must for a black car.

My buddy picked up some detailer spray, does the stuff really work well? It doesn't do anything negative to the wax?

Besides everything everyone just said....if you have a perfect or rather near perfect black finish....you must also be the **** FROM HELL!!!!

I wouldn't let any girl put a hand print on my car....unless she allowed me to put a handprint her first. And then....I'd still have to think about it!

Yummy panty shots

If you're a Zaino-er, grab the detailing spray. It contains a small amount of the polish from what I understand, so it does more good than bad.

A cruise-in is just a car meet. It doesn't cost anything, you just gather a bunch of "car people" in the same place and show off your ride. Like a car show, only free and without judging and such.

No, we don't need to pay the girls... we know them.

Black is Beautiful, just like girls on cars. In regards to your question. Is there any hope to keep a black car clean: Not really. Just use a detail spray constantly and be prepared to go through alot of bottles.

Yeah, I knew it was gonna be bad when I got a black car, but man... it's near impossible.

I think that once it's clean black looks more amazing than any other color though.

That's the thing.....

Everytime I swear to myself that I will never buy another black car again...it once again seduces me.

My 99 TA I just bought is black. And it is BEAUTIFUL when it is cleaned up. Yes, a garage is a must. It stays in one. Let a black car sit outside in the weather. Water spots from rain, and other stuff!

VERY hard to keep clean. I have to wipe it down w/ detailor almost everywhere I go.

I am so glad the Z is white!

My WS6 is black also, and since I don't have a garage, I think Mother Nature is out to get me. EVERYTIME I wash/polish it and leave it for more than one day, it will rain. My cure was a good quality car cover. I bought a covercraft weathershield cover (approx $235) and I love it! It is for outdoor use, repells water, protects the paint, and keeps my car clean when I don't drive it. I don't use it for work, so it stays clean all week long, and I don't have to wash it when I take it out for the weekend..... just use a duster to wipe off any dust, etc. However, I do wash it or use the zaino spray prior to covering it once again. This has saved me a lot of extra work.
