I have purchased several from the auction for much less than that. My last was a 93 Escort wagon with only 43,000 miles for $600. I am currently looking at a clean 95 neon to tool around in (I want good gas mileage in a beater) with 70,000 miles and no problems for $1300.

Got a suggestion ... since F-bodies aren't made anymore, why not go buy one somewhere else anyway? Instead of getting one from someone who probably wouldn't let it go to waste and get crushed or something. If you like them, then help keep them on the road. Buy one someone was probably going to scrap.

Scott, Greg said he sent you a PM about Daniels 93 forsale for 1500. I doubt you have seen me as I work 7 days a week and go to school 5 when its in, so I dont really have a lot of time to go to the strip.
You may have seen me in my old 89 GT, it was lime green and had HULK on the plates. I carried that one once or twice. My cousin or something just bought Roxborro Motorsports last year. He done a complete restoration and now the track is awsome. Not a rundown junkyard like it was.
For everyone else who talked mad ****, you are OWNED. Im sure if I look around long enough the guy with the 93 with the LT's, cam etc.. that he sold for 2000 is a member from a long time ago. Im sure he want mind posting the truth.
G22lvr, anything smart to say now?

140K miles is just getting warmed up for an import, dont forget that.
Can you explain this? Did the rice people invent a new material for rings and bearings that the rest of us don't know about? Did they receive this new material from an alien source? Did they invent a way to get rounder walls than domestics?

I own 3 domestics myself, and they do NOT hold there value like a import does
I don't understand this. Since the foriegn car market is a total of 22% and when I look in the Post Gazette or Pennysaver, I always find more rice for sale than domestics. Do you have actual evidence that rice holds their value longer?

And, as for you saying an import is a POS car, I dont even have to say anything about that as the cars speak for themselves. Just seen a maxima the other day getting an oil change with over 260,XXX miles.
My dad had an 80 Citation X11 with over 300,00 miles. The motor was still good but the frame went. He still sold the motor out of the car. What does that prove? I am sure anyone could find examples of a high milage car. I think Chevy used some of that Alien technology in his Citation.

Don't forget that Imports ussually have miniscule torque numbers so there is barely any thrust loads/stress on any of the rotating assembly, I too have a Pontiac Firefly with 233,xxx on her, its a 3 cyl, passes emissions with flying colors, doesn't burn oil etc.. I even floor her around, thats my beater, also get 60+ mpg, its very very very healthy, so what? Also nothing is broken on that thing, & clutch is only been changed once. Power is what breaks things.

Umm.. Ok I also know of a chick on the autotrader last year that sold her Doge Viper for $1000 or something like that, so what? She was mad at her husband & this is what she did, do a search on all forums its there.

Also, I've also seen desperate people like my neighbor that baught a Honda Civic 2002 for $4000 from some guy that was really desperate, he knew him through family.

So what? One or two of these cases doesn't mean anything, if I fell of the bridge & had no insurace & needed medical help, I'd sell my car for the money I needed to attend to my medical needs.

I tried selling it for about 4 months for 9000 and ended up trading it for the 90 coupe. Before you say I was dumb, I had offers to buy the coupe before I even picked it up for 11K. A mustang coupe is about the only mustang that is bringing in a lot of money right now as far as used mustangs go. I have seen 80K mile 90 model coupes in great condition sell for 8000 over at corral.net. The 93 Cobra's also sell very well bringing around 14K with about 65K miles. Any year cobra's are holding there value pretty good and so are the 99+ gt mustangs. A used 99 will cost you about 5K more than a used 98 will with the same milage.
Anyway, traded the 97 Z even for the coupe and never thought twice since.

As far as just buying one without trading it probably wouldn't be a problem since he has deep pockets.
Haha, I wish I had deep pockets, then I would own my own motorsports company like some people here, LOL. Just curious G22lvr, got a link to your company's site?

Depends on many things...

I am in the market for a new car and my options are 99+ LS1 or 99+ GT.

Not denying the value and appreciation of the Cobras, but GT's are different thing, IMO. BTW, there is a dealer here in DFW selling a 99 Cobra for $16K, though. Haven't checked it out yet, but just FYI...

Prices for the GT's (40-50K miles) have been in the high 10's (00 GT w/42K miles) to mid 12's (99 GT Conv. w/48K) as opposed to low 12's (99 Z28 w/48K) to high 13's (99 Z28 Conv. w/55K).

Not to mention the 00 GT w/28K for 13.5K which I drove today.

So, I guess since the F-body was a bit more expensive (right...? ) off the showroom floor new, both of the cars tend to hold their values pretty much equally well or bad.

Just my latest non-scientific observations...

BTW: Any bites on the trade yet?

TS

95GrnZ, thats some really good prices for the 99 cars. I had not priced them since last year when I bought mine. The lowest I could find one a year ago was for 15.
I see someone on here has a 00-01 SS forsale for 16,500 with 7K miles
Cars depreciate way to fast now, the good ones anyway.
My84Z, after all this crap happened, I have decided to trade for another mustang, I know my way around them, know what makes them tic, etc..
Found a SWEEEEEET 87 coupe, the color I want for sale. He and I are currently working out a trade as we speak. Normally I would not trade my 93 Maxima for an 87 but its the car I really have been looking for,, for a few years.
Here is a pic. Its pretty stock, save for bolt-ons, exhaust, strong aftermarket tranny and a cage. Perfect building block for me anyway. Let me know what ya think!
