For Sale - 1994 Trans Am

For Sale: 1994 Trans Am
Black
Grey cloth interior
Chrome 96-style wheels
Automatic Transmission
107,260 miles on the odometer (Has complete Lt1 with 5K miles)
Freshly updated 4L60E transmission (5K miles)

Mods:
Crane Cam 214/220 .495/.495 112LSA (idle just like stock)
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
K-motion 105 valvesprings
Moroso CAI

Car also has new NGK TR-55 plugs and new stock 7mm wires.

The outside is in great shape, with only a couple small nicks towards the back spoiler. The tires are in good shape, with plenty of tread left on them. The interior is perfect, the seats are clean and no tears, and the dash has no cracks in it. Right now the opti is dead on it, but I have a new one on order that I will replace (it has a one year warranty on it).

Asking $5000 or best reasonable offer. I am east of Cincinnati and can make arrangements for seeing the car. I also have pics of it if anyone would like to email me.

I forgot to add that I may even consider a partial or full trade for a nice used 4-door car or SUV.

Ok, I will send you some pics. Also this car belongs to my fiancee, so it has been babied and lady driven the whole time we've had it.

Why did you replace the motor and trans? also, did you go through proper steps to break them in?

The reason the motor was replaced was because only about a month after getting it, we did an oil change, tune-up, and replaced the fuel pump (it was making too much noise). As soon as we changed the oil and test drove it, it spun a rod bearing. That surprised us, being that the valvetrain and all was clean and the car did not make any knocking sounds. The only thing that my mechanic came up with was that the previous owner must have used some kind of stop leak to mask the intake manifold leak problem it had. The transmission was fine, but since it had 100K on it we went ahead and had it freshened up with new clutches, band, etc.... I kinds did that as a preventive maintenance step. The car was broke in properly, IMO. It did not see over 55mph or 3,000 rpm the first 500 miles. Most of the miles put on the car has been around town, but not less than 3miles. The oil has been changed every 3,000 miles, except when the cam was installed, in which the oil was changed twice in 1,000 miles.

Well, I got the opti fixed and it ran for a week and now it wont start again. I really would like to get rid of this thing and do not want to put any more money in it. I am willing to sell as is for $3000 or best reasonable offer.

Have you been troubleshooting and diagnosing the car yourself or have you taken it to shops and had them look at it as well to no avail?

A little of both. Before, we put a spark tester on it and the spark would fire sporatically. We check fuel pressure and pressure was 47psi. It was doing the exact same thing my Camaro did last year, which was a high resolution fault (opti). We replaced the opti, and the plugs which were drowned in gas, and the car started fine with plenty of spark. It was driven around town for about a week and then yesterday all of a sudden it doesnt want to start again.

However, looks like I have this thing sold. bstevens I am glad your friend didnt buy this thing from me. I would have felt bad to have sold a car that only ran a week before crapping out again.
