I have this xbox that I don't need anymore, it's a pretty sweet setup, but I can't ebay it because it has a modchip installed in it.

Anyways, a little about the xbox-

It has a 1meg chameleon modchip installed, with a 200GB hard drive, and modified samsung 616t cd-drive...it comes with the cords, two of the type-s controllers and a dvd remote.

what this means, is....you can play 'backup' copies of games, as well as copy them to the harddrive and just play them straight from there, which means faster load times and no Game CDs to haul around. I had 74 games on here and still had plenty of room for more.

Being modified it also opens up other possibilities that are not possible with a normal xbox, such as emulators for playstation1, nintendo, super nintendo, nintendo 64, sega genesis and more...as well as the ability to play DivX and DVD movies...it also has a web browser so you can use it to surf the web. Having the samsung PC drive allows it to read all sorts of burned CDs and DVDs that most normal xbox's cannot.

It's all setup and ready to go, it's a pretty cool little toy, but I don't need two of them...so I thought somebody on here might be interested, either for their home or to install in their car, (since you can load the games from the HD, it would be perfect for that...)

anyways, I'm asking $450 shipped- which is far less than it would cost for you to acquire all the parts to put one of these together, and i've already done all the hard work and configuring for you, it's plug and play! I just want to make part of my money back

$150 on the xbox
+$30 on the extra controller
+$54 on the chameleon modchip +programmer
+$115 on the samsung drive
+$110 on the 200gb drive
+$15 on the dvd remote
--------
=$474 total cost

and that doesn't account for the time I spent installing the modchip and hard drive....nor does account for the applications (not easy to find) which are preloaded onto the system, typically I expect you'd pay at least $80+ to have someone else do all this...$450 shipped is a bargain

so, does the price still seem so ridiculous? if it does make an offer, who knows, maybe i'm out of my mind for expecting anyone to pay that much...i'll take the highest offer i get within the next week or so

 

what are the 'preloaded' apps?

boXplorer - like windows explorer, but for xbox
config magic - system configuration utility
dvd-x2 donglefree dvd-player - allows dvds to be played even without the remote
dvd2xbox - copy utility, for putting backup copies
xbox ftp - moves files to and from xbox via FTP
xbox media player/center - universal media player, plays movie files, divx, mp3s/wmas, etc...
linksbox - web browser, visit websites using the xbox

I will probably delete my backups before I sell it...right now it has 74 of my games loaded on the HD, i could leave some on for 'evaluation purposes' but legally the buyer is supposed to delete them within 24hours if they don't own a real copy.

well, since I've only had one person interested at my asking price, I'm going to try and sweeten the deal...

I have preordered a limited collectors edition (USA) version of Halo 2 which comes out on Nov. 9th, it's the one that costs $54, comes with the metal tin and the extra DVD...I will ship it at no extra cost to the winning bidder as soon as I receive, it if they are willing to purchase the xbox.

Now I have to sell it because I bought an iPod with my food money, and well I need to eat, so make an offer please

 

ok 2 quick questions...

is there an emulator or some way to make it play PS2 games?

do you have a list of the 74 games on the hd?
