FS: 99' Camaro Rear Differential

Name: Khyle
Location: Silver Spring, MSD
Means of contact: 24o37429o8 or KOauto@hotmail.com
Price: 300 or best offer

I pulled a rear from my friends Z/28 to install a larger and stronger setup. I am now left with his differential. It will need to be cleaned and new discs. Other then that, this rear is completely functional. The milage, I do not remember when I pulled, no more than 80k though. Please contact me for any questions.

It is a posi-drive. I do not know what gear is in there though.

That would make it either a 2.73 or a 3.23 gear set if it's still the factory gear set. Rotate the axle exactly one revolution. Count how many times the pinion shaft rotates. That is the gear ratio. Or pull the cover, count the teeth on the ring gear, and on the pinion gear. Divide ring gear tooth count by pinion gear tooth count.

I will try that later on this week. Thank you. Could this, of course affect the value of this part? Higher or lower value?

Re: FS: 99' Camaro Rear Differential

May be interested in this if you find out the gear ratio and can maybe get a pic of the insides. It's quite a drive up there but not too far.

I'm in Norfolk VA

I will try to obtain some photos and try that one method to find the gear ratio tomorrow.

Re: FS: 99' Camaro Rear Differential

A 99 Z28 would have had a Torsen 'posi'. From the pics, it's a 4 channel rearend, the sensors are in the backing plates, for a car with ABS and Traction Control. Your friends car option code would tell you what the gear ratio is. GU2=2.73 GU5=3.23
