Well I filed a complaint with paypal hopefully justice prevails. Oh and for you all to see I uploaded a screenshot and a picture to my old geocities account.

If this doesn't work can somebody host the pictures for me.

Also if this doesn't pan out I'll file a complaint with the FBI here http://www1.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp

Black Cloud, as with life $hit happens, whether you knew or not doesn't excuse the fact that you sold it as something it wasn't.
The guy really wasn't asking too much to resolve the issue.

that pic is bad quality, you cant even see what kind of pentium it is. Take a screen shot and save it as a bitmap if you have to, then you can send it to me and i'll post it for you. My email is the.wack0@gmail.com

 

Try saving it to your desktop and then opening it I could read it fine. If it still doesn't work post again and I'll email the pictures to you.

 

I really think you should have done a bit more research before buying such a product. Ultimately you are to blame for letting this type of situation unfold.
Even though a scam may or may not have taken place, its your own responsibility to make sure you cover your butt. I only buy from individuals here that have over 1,000 posts , but then I still know If I get scammed or mislead then I let it happen and have no one to blame , but myself in the end.

Thanks for your two cents, but I think you lost sight of his main objective, which was to warn other people about Black Cloud. When did he place the blame on someone else?

 

I did not say that he was placing blame on someone else. I said that He ultimately is responsible for getting mislead or scammed. I know he is just warning folks of his bad experience. I am just giving ...as you say "my two cents" to hopefully tell people that the risk is out there and for those that see this thread and many others like it, DONT RISK IT UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO BLOW.

I bet he wishes he just went ahead and purchased a new unit with a warranty now. I hate scams and wish none of this would have happened to begin with either.

Try this on your computer right click on the icon my computer select properties a screen will pop up stating the processor specs, ram, etc... At this screen on the laptop you sold me it states pentium II 365 Mhz windows does not lie. I can send you a picture if you want one. Also like I said the the monitor isn't even a 14" one.

If you truly did pay for windows xp then send me legal store bought copy of the disk and I will call us even and say that you made ammends. And the fun continues. He just called me and said he is disabled and in a wheel chair he is turning 50 next month or within the year. Then he goes on to say that he is on disability and the only money he gets is from tuning cars (huh funny when I bought it and talked to him he said he tuned cars for free because he was a nice guy) He also said he makes money from working on computers. Wow a guy that makes money working on computers doesn't know how to check the specs on a computer when he sells it.....hmmm.... okay... So then he goes on to say his brother is a lawyer and his cousin or monkeys uncle or something like that is a judge in the federal court. Wow that's got to bee some statistical annomaly. A disable race car driver that works on computers but doesn't know how to check processor specs. Who also has a brother that is a lawyer and a relative that is a federal judge. I wish i had hooked up a tape recorder to that conversation he backtracked so many times it was insane. He said I got a great deal I have over a thousand dollars worth of stuff sitting in front of me. So then I said fine well if it's so great then you could easily resell it so I requested my money back and I said that I would send the package back. He said no way. Well I'm going to file a complaint with the FBI and with his local law enforcement tomorrow or this weekend. I hope he feels good about screwing over a 21 year old college student with a very limited income. Oh i gave him two other options one was to send me the "legal" version of xp he bought and put on the computer. He said no because he didn't want to throw 300 dollars out the window. I'll call up microsoft tomorrow and see if it is a "legal version" Haha get this his xp serial key was 12345-12345-12345-12345 I almost burst out laughing when he said that one. The other option was just to send me 50 dollars which I believe is more than fair and he said no. Then soon therafter hung up on me.

 

I though I did do my homework I talked to him on the phone did a search of all old posts he made. He even gave me his ebay id for feedback and it was 98% positive( I know it was his one feedback was item recieved but smelled bad of cigarets. I think i'm going to need a lung transplant just opening the package up my grandfater used to smoke 3 packs a day and he smelled like a fresh spring day compared to that package). I thought I was in the clear with this one that's why I did a bank transfer over paypal and not credit card or usps money order. I never blamed anyone or camaroz28.com in fact I have had great experiences with other memebers on this site. I am warning all about this and I will prob. post this on other f-body sites as well. One last chance John what do you want to do. You called my bluff and you were wrong.

Actually it is in there user agreement they will not handle cases for misdescribed items. Paypal is not a good service by any means but its fast easy and cheap that's why I used it. I doubt I will do it again. How is me wanting a refund a scam. I guess people returning items to walmart get that all the time. Hey you can't return that your trying to scam us. John i already posted a screenshot and a pic showing the specs on the computer your post states it's a p3. Don't make me make an mp3 of the voicemail on my computer at work and post that too. I did not hang up on you I heard a click said hello and nobody said anything thus you hung up on me.

Sorry your transaction worked out this way. Black Cloud should just take it back and refund your money. That's what I would do. And Mikie, I take offense to the statement of not dealing with anyone with less than 1000 posts. Iv'e been checking out this site for almost four years now, but have only been a member for one. Do somehow a persons morals change when they hit your ideal post count?

 

Do you honestly think OldSchoolSS would be going to go through all this to scam you $50??? Doesn't make sense. I'm glad this post was made so everyone can see what a chump Black Cloud is.

If you sell something in such a way to list it as fact, then it's false - you've misrepresented the item. In addition, if you advertised the software to be included with the laptop - then you have to send the friggin' licensed copys...otherwise OldSchoolSS has to reinstall with a legal licensed copy. You're not supposed to have the same licensed copy running on multiple machines.

If you advertise something saying it in such a way as "I was told it's a pentium III, etc...then you'd have some ground to stand on. But it doesn't seem like that's been said until AFTER money was exchanged.

Go on "The People's Court" so you can get owned in public.

Paypal is worthless. That's why I usually don't bother using them.
