Dash pad and hatch shocks
Re: Dash pad and hatch shocks
The hatch lift supports you can get @ pretty much any parts store, like NAPA (I assume that's what you want). For the dash pad, I'm assuming you want the ABS panel that runs to the windshield & has the defrost louvers. I hadda replace mine a while back and could only get it @ a dealership. Cost wasn't bad at all (~$85). What I found is that I hadda bust my old one up to get it out, but the new one slipped right in. That tends to rule out finding it @ a junk yard, unless they made a concerted effort to take it out right & preserve it.
Good luck.

Hatch shocks are everywhere on eBay and Amazon. Just pick one, they are all the same. I did and they work fine. For the dash pad, I bought a dash cover on eBay for about $120 and it looks good enough for me. It may well outlast this old guy! My step kids will have to deal with it ;-)

I didn't see it on Hawks--wasn't looking for it--but they would surely take it out correctly, so would be a good option. And as some note, you can always just cover it up. Go the LethalInteriors.com & Princess will make you one for ~$65, shipped.

I did say it was a while back, but it was @ a dealership here in Tampa. I had talked to a guy who does leather steering wheels; he gave me the name of the guy to see & I went right over. I was surprised, too--it's the only time I ever got such a good deal from a dealership.

There are 2-3 other vendors for seats, and the price was pretty much the same, give-or-take ~$100. Went w/ Lethal because I could select the exact mat'l & colors I wanted (I got the faux-leather), and saw various comments that indicated Princess does a pretty good job. Takes months to get the finished product (argh!), but it should turn out well.

I did get the seats from her, should arrive anyday now. Since I already had the doors apart, also got enuff mat'l to do the door pan inserts to match--that was an adventure. Those things aren't meant to be changed; they mold them in w/ tabs & some sort of heat iron. But I came up w/ a solution that worked out really well. Looks like they came that way from the factory.

That's what I paid, plus a little xtra for the door pan inserts and shipping. She gave me enuff mat'l to do the doors twice, in case I screwed up (I wound up redoing the 1st one--did I mention what a challenge it was?). Real leather was ~$400 more, but it's tougher to work with. It was pretty much the same w/ all the vendors I found.

Don't have 'em yet, expect they'll get here anytime now. Never considered a trim shop, always planned to do it myself. Many of the interiors you see on her site were done by the car owners. I'd guess a shop would want at least $500+ labor to do the job. I have experience doing panels (did some vans back in the day) & carpet (the carpet for these is pre-molded), but never tried seats. The only special tool is hog-ring pliers. I'mma take my time w/ it, and w/ the frustration factor(s), figure to take 2-3 days.
Interior is gettin' to be a pricey proposition, what w/ the Bose HU & amps, carpet, seats, new switches, door handles, etc. I figured ~$1000, but am well past that now.
Daggone shame I can't put everything back together until I get that &*#% RAP module--argh! But I might have a line on one, so we'll see.

Keep me posted on how it goes. I need to actually get my car to the track before I decide what I am going to do seat wise (planning on auto cross).

Got word it shipped today; should have it in 2-3 days. Maybe if I'm lucky and the stars align just right, I can have it done by Xmas. But I ain't bettin' on it.
Here's some irony. Was cleaning off my dresser this weekend, and a tray I have that holds biz cards was stuffed full. Figgered some could be tossed, so went thru them. Noticed a number of cards from the same place: a trim shop near here. That's where Dale (steering wheel guy) worked. On the back of 1 card it said "Bob - Autoway Chevy - dash $85." This trim shop did a lot of work for the dealerships, & I think Dale called this Bob & asked him to hook me up. Which he did. Can't believe I still had that card.
Also found a place that does seatbelt repairs/reconditioning - ssnake-oyl.com. They're in TX. Both of my front retractors are kinda limp, sounds like they can fix 'em. I'm guessing you have 4-pointers now, but for anyone who has the stock 3-pointers, this could be a good way to recondition & tighten 'em up. Will know more when I hear back from them.
