Big solid roller cam, SB2.2 heads, many other performance parts
Re: Big solid roller cam, SB2.2 heads, many other performance parts
One of the top 3 heads for making power in a SBC. They are the heads used in NASCAR Nextel Cup chevy engines making 800hp on their 358 cubic inch engines at 8500-9000rpm. Higher displacement engines will bring the powerband down considerably. These heads are for someone looking to build a monster. I swear, if i wasn't still in school i'd buy these things right now. They're a goldmine for power in the hands of someone serious. Think about this... Chuck Riddeck has a 96 or 97 camaro with a 434 gen1 SBC and SB2.2 heads making over 700hp on pump gas around 6500rpm. And at 900-1000rpm it idles like a CC306 in a well-tuned 350 LT1. They aren't as simple as bolting on a set of AFRs, but they will make insane power on a SBC (or LT1, about the same thing).
Dammit chevyguy3, why couldn't you wait another year to sell these things

actually ive already waited 2 years to sell them since i really wanted to hold onto them and build a monster with them
yeah, trust me i paid a lot more for the heads and valvetrain than the $2500 i am selling them for, i just need the $ now. basically to make it simple, SB2.2's are an 11* SBC head with large valves (2.18/1.62 in thise pair) and also a 4* side angle on the intake valve to help unshroud it as it opens in the cylinder. the intake and exhaust ports are also equally spaced unlike a normal SBC/LT1 head to help even out the runner length and give a straighter shot from the carb/throttle body base plate to the back of the intake valve. these are take-off's from a Winston Cup car, should flow >360cfm and have titanium valves & retainers, aluminum valvecovers, lower intake, ARP head studs, and the best shafts that T&D makes (those alone are over $2000 when new). i was personally going to use them for a 434 SBC to put in my old firebird, never got around to building that combo, and also never got around to modifying them to put on my 396 LT1 like i was thinking of doing too (Darrin Harden and a few others have done this). there are plenty of people making 900hp NA with large displacement SB2.2 small blocks, and with a power adder they can make unbeleivable power from a 2 valve small block. my own next engine will definitly be an SB2.2, i just have things i need to take care of for now that are more important than keeping the heads
