14:1 LT1 383 AFR227 solid roller
Selling my little 383. I built it for land speed racing so it is set up for good endurance. It's been 200 at Bonneville and 191 in the standing mile at Maxton. It is set up for a 400 shot of nitrous but I haven't hit more than 250. It ran flawlessly at Bonneville pulling 8000-8500rpm for 30 seconds straight. Last time I ran it I thought something was wrong so I tore it down but just found the rotor had come off the opti. I am swtiching to a twin turbo 540 so this has to go now.
I can sell it as is, disassembled for your inspection for $6000, or I can reassemble with fresh rings, bearings and Cometic head gaskets for $6500.
As you can see from the teardown pics this engine is in excellent condition and the bearings look awesome. Here is a breakdown;
Block - half filled with hard block, splayed caps, main studs
crank - Lunati 4340 internally balanced
Balancer- ATI superdamper
rods - Eagle 6 inch H beam
pistons - CP dome measure 13.9:1 compression
cam - Comp custom solid roller 268/280 @ .050 114 lsa .700 lift
timing set - large link vortec style
lifters - Crower
heads - AFR 227 65cc
rockers - T&D 1.6 ratio shaft rockers
Kevco oil pan

Also willing to sell the top end separately. That would include the heads and T&D Shaft rockers (1.6).
The heads I just disassembled, checked and lapped the valves and checked spring pressure. Everything is in excellent shape.
