Z saved my life today...

Was going down a hill on canada way, in the left lane, and crossing an intersection. I was going at a good pace... probably around 80 or so (downhill not many cars around), and a car turning left infront of me decided to go just as i was approaching the intersection- and then STOP across one lane and half way into the other, he had stopped completly infront of me and was partially into the right lane too!. I had to essentially jerk the steering maybe 10-20 feet away from the (idiot) driver... there were no other cars around and it was a very visible intersection, he could have seen me from 100m back no problem. Anyhow i've never had to make such a sudden maneuver with my car and it was amazing, the tires squeeled a good bit but my car maintained perfect control as i went around him to the right, halfway out of the intersection and then back in squeeling all the way. It was surreal, in any other car i'm sure i would have skidded into the side of the intersection or something...

That's what happens when you drive 80 in a 50 zone .

Glad you're okay though. I HATE retarded drivers .

yea it wasnt exactly the speedlimit, but you'd think that would be more motivation not to turn into someone

this is why I usually at least slow down to the speed limit if not a little under thru intersections.... don't trust anyone.

Think about, if you were driving faster you would have past that car long time ago before he decided to pull some sort of crazy stunt like that.

What nationality was he/she?

He was in the left lane turning left. Suddenly decided not to go for it. He had the right lane partially blocked. Must have been a big friggen car.

Hehe.. i did slow down approaching the intersection come to think of it ... just enough so id have time to react if somethign happend.. i guess i was cutting pretty close but i "did" manage to avoid it! Crazy people out there, you either go or you don't... the WORST thing you can do is go and STOP infront of hte car coming at you.. yeesh...

I've had to do a quick lane change due to a sudden stop ahead of me, and I admit I was following too close to stop in time.

My wife was driving behind me in our Blazer and said it looked like something out of a movie...........I swerved at the last second.

If I had been in any of our other vehicles (like our Golf or Blazer I would have either slammed into the car that was in front of me or went over a curb in an attempt to make it around them.

Camaro's are great.
