what to expect

just a estimate of hat to expect power wise for this h/c package. The heads are CNC’d ported lt-1's and have 2.00/1.56 Manley stainless steel valves, toped off with Crane’s springs and retainers kit 10308-1 with dual coil springs. The heads also have guide plates installed.
and the cam is a cc305 i just need to know what needs to be done in order to keep it runing smooth and reliable and will it pass air care...already toasted 1 tranny...dont need to blow a motor now as well
thanks in advance

Re: what to expect

Depends how well the heads were ported but I'd say 350rwhp + if your tune and port job are right on. With 114 LSA and a good tune she'll idle fine and smoke aircare. The bottom end can take the power easily and should pull to 6500 with the cam.

Now the tranny is another question.

Re: what to expect

Thats a similar set-up to what I have...

My heads could probably use more attention but I am told they flow about 255cfm @ 600 lift. (I'm pretty sure thats what Mike told me)

With the 305 cam, full bolt-on's and only Matt's seat of the pants tuning, I made 336rwhp. I am sure it could get more hp with some tuning as I was at 11.25 air fuel ratio the whole time.

With my rev-limiter set too low for my 4.30 gears (hits the limiter atleast 100ft before the traps), I still managed 109mph in the 1/4 with a 3850lb car.

Finally, my car passed air scare with FLYING colours and I didn't even have to detune it. I did have two brand new cats though.

I hope that gives you an idea of what you are up against.

Re: what to expect

I had the CC305 cam with untouched stock heads, shorty headers and single exhaust, and my tuning i made 334 rwhp and ran 110 mph on street tires .. so with some heads and decent installation and tuning you should make at least that and more. with an auto tranny, you should be well in the 12s .. CC305 is the best street cam you could put in your car IMO
