by reading news reports from foreign sources, you get a way better picture then just relying on one source of information..
That is fair enough.

What really annoys me is when someone presumes to know what another person's information sources are, and then goes on to say that this person has been brainwashed by them. Not pointing fingers at anyone about this, but it has happened.

For any debate to be worthwhile, each statement made must hold together on its own, in order to support the point of view of the debater. Just the way the lugnuts on your car's wheels all need to work together to let the car perform without the wheels falling off... this happens in arguments too

For the record, I listen to any media I can get my hands on. I have both US and Canadian satellite TV, so I watch all those sources. On the web I've been reading Arabic sites like aljazeera for ages (thru translation software), long before any of this conflict started. I also look at Australian, French, German, and other sources of news, again using translation software when I need to. So no, I don't just watch CNN.

Everyone should venture out of their own media to get a balanced view on things. US media is biased, but so is the CBC and other media around the world. Read it all and form your opinion. Overall to me CTV seems to be the most balanced, although it may be because I grew up with that channel as my main news source. If you want an example of bile, check www.arabnews.com. It's in english, and bar none the most biased news I've ever seen.

I'm not gonna look at the 6th gen Vette because dammit, I can't afford one

the method you use to absorb it can be by viewing it (watching), reading, or listening... so you were reading (the US media BS) and not watching CNN (the US media BS),
Haven't been following this cause I was working on some projects but since I was gone looks like I have a few things I have missed.

Now first off, The sited quotes I posted were from the United Nations site, does that get influenced completely by US prop. I would have to say no. Now I will read anything I can get my hands on as I enjoy reading and learning other sides of the story. Got that from when I went to University as, if I turned in a report and it was lacking backbone then it got shot down, which I did not care to have happen. Now you have accused me of only watching television and only US television. You have also ASSumed that you happen to know what I can speak or can read. Now how about instead of throwing rubber bombs my way to try and read something yourself rather than try to make yourself sound smart by bashing me cause of your bias' thinking that since I am from the US, I must be ignorant, and can't read anything, and can only drool in front of CNN. Why not, instead of saying I don't read, or I am not worldly to get some facts and bash my information down, with facts.

In addition to what bunker said about the religions being against each other.... Jews vs Arabs..

check Vancouver sun, front page, there is a pic of saddam statue with a shoe on his head, and a jewish star of david scribed on his forehead... if that is not proof enough, i dunno what is...

I see what your point is - however I don't think anyone is arguing with the assertion that Jews and Arabs do not get along...

The strange thing about this though is that the Star of David is obviously a Jewish insult to Saddam, but the shoe on his head is an Arabic insult. I am not sure what you are trying to say this proves... please explain.

it is quite strange to see a shoe on his head and THEN the star of david.... thought this conflict had nothing to do with the jews?

the media never even references them in any way, and then a star of david appears on the statue like that?? WTF?

LOL I have no idea either who might have put the Star of David there along with the shoe.

Jews didn't play a direct role in the conflict (Israel was urged to stay out of it by the coalition if I remember correctly) however they are often blamed as the instigators of aggression. i.e. Zionist America backed by Israel and vice versa vs. the people of Iraq. Seems like some things never change as the Jews have been blamed for so many conflicts throughout history.

I along with other US citizens am Very disappointed in our Northern neighbors and alleys. THANK GOD for BRITAN and all her help. Truely, she is our one TRUE alley! Austrailia sent some help too, which is all we asked, just for some help!

Certain nameless countries that border the GREATEST country on the face of the Earth, should be glad that the US is a super power, lest their countries be taken over by countries with less than desireable intentions.

Another thing that ticks me off. 'We just want the oil!' GET OFF IT!
If we want oil, why wouldn't we just go over and take Kuwait?
They don't even have an army! They would make a fine 51st state.

I am sick of other foreign countries begging for our help when they need, it but turn their backs on us when we ask for some.

By the way... living in Michigan, I travel to race in Canada and Canadians come over here for our events. I have no 'ill will' towards these Canadian friends. Your government on the other hand, well lets just say it is pretty chicken *#it.

May GOD continue to bless the US and help her keep watch over the entire world! For GOD has great plans and missions for the U.S.

Yes because as we all know there are so many countries with the desire to invade Canada.
