So ahh..I failed...

Went to aircare today, failed in the Oxides of Nitrogen section.

Has anybody been thru aircare recently with headers? How did you do?

I have until friday to get this fixed.

check ur EGR .. a bad EGR will definately cause NOx failure

another way to lower NOx is to run cooler ... so make sure ur fans are on .. and if u wanna goto extremes u can take out ur thermostat but u gotta make sure u goto closed loop (ie not running TOO cool)

and goto GM get a bottle of top end cleens and spray it in ur throttle body to clean ur combustion chambers

I passed with headers, heads, and cam.

Did you try to pass with a fake/gutted cat?

NOx is caused by excessive combustion chamber heat. It can also be high if you deleted your EGR without having a cam with significant overlap.

No I didn't try to use the fake cat, I used a "hi-flow" cat that Matt sold me along with the headers. I got a feeling that's what caused it because the exhaust smelt different from what I've smelt before. It's smells like something is burning inside or something I dunno.

P.S Call me stupid, but I have no clue what/where the EGR is.

Does anyone have a working NON-performance cat they can lend me for a day? I dun wanna bother the Non-cheap "god of tuning and aircare and everything else in North Van" again if I don't have to.
