SLP weekend, Summer 2007

Remember that this is not the 1960's anymore with big blocks and rare perfomance options, and the current SS's and WS-6's are not much more than a regular Z28 or T/A with some different emblems, a different hood and spoiler, and some Corvette wheels with an inflated sticker price. Not to say they are not exclusive and valued higher than a Z28 or T/A, but just don't forget where the SS's and WS-6's came from.
You may have missed the point of the 'SLP' part of the event. We know we could get a huge turnout of F-Bodies if that was the intent. Feel free to organize such an undertaking if you want to. We will have enough to do with the strictly SLP cars. Maybe you can plan something for this year like some people want?
PS - "Current" SS's and WS-6's? Only the first two years of WS6's were SLP prepared.

Guys try not to take offense.
The SLP community is a very active community within a larger family thats all. I use to lurk a lot on the SLP boards. They are just a fraternity within the group and they have organized these events before.
There is a HUGE event that is held out East each year.
Kudo's to Pat and Larry for trying to get there 'brothers' to come to the West coast for a change. I have thought of going to some events but they are just too far away.
Its all good.

While we got reasonable support from local SLP-prepared car owners, the number of remote cars that were committed to an event "way up there" was disappointing. One each from Michigan, Texas, Oregon, Manitoba and Alberta.
Not quite enough to justify the work required to execute the event.
We may have more luck during the Olympics year, so that more people would be willing to plan a trip to this area.
For Pontiac owners, there is an all-Pontiac event in Kelowna on the 15th. A few T/As and Firehawks are headed there.

Damn, I got all excited for second.
Then I realized it I wasn't eligable to have fun.
That blows, looks like a good time.
It wouldn't have occured to me that the "SLP crowd" would purposely not include regular Fbodies.
We should have a non SLP gathering!

Best part of gatherings is seeing cleaner, faster, different cars than your own...at least that's what I enjoy. Hell, half the shows I end up at, I'm the only American car there (let alone F-body).
To each his own I suppose.
