Just back from the Corvette driving school...

....and man does Armen have my envy.

It is the second time I have been to the Spring Mountain Driving School (Armen has been three times) but the first time I got to drive a new Z06.

Un - freakin - believable. STAGERRINGLY fast. Fabulous brakes. When you stand at the side of the track and three of them shoot by at WOT the sound is glorious.

With the Z06 C6 I hit a top speed on the back straight of 111 (versus 108 with the C5 Z06 last time and 104 in the caddy) and I thought I was doing well. I was the fastest of the group of 9.

Then at the end they took us out for hot laps with the instructors. Dave - head instructor - had it at 123 mph going into the curve. He said that when they drive the car solo the top speed is over 140 mph.

You have NO idea what can be done with these cars until you have ridden shot gun with someone with experience. I HUGE rush.

I had originally thought that this would be the last time I would go BUT after those hot laps and seeing how much room there is left for improvement......

Very cool!

If I ever get a hold of some money I'd love to go.

I am hoping one day to do one of these. I have done something similar but there was no ZO6 just an 07 base and only a 4 or 5 turn track. I was instantly addicted and could not get enough. I remember my first lap tires screaching sliding all over the place lol
