what does the law say about self defense or if u catch someone breaking into ur car or ur house ?! how far can u beat them before u get into trouble yourself ?
I think the law says pretty much that once you have ended the threat to your or someone else's person/property, you cannot continue since you then become the agressor.

for what i know, if the guy isnt down for good, he'll continue to assualt me when he gets up again

so imma make sure he aint gettin up when he goes down untill the cops get there and if they asked about the broken knee caps, id say that the guy kept assaulting me everytime he got up .. so i made sure he aint gettin up till u guys get here

You should post this story in the kill section! As Typhoon pointed out, you do have to worry if the guy has a knife or a second guy around. Glad to hear it went OK for you though.

Next time, you should use the 1 wood instead of the 6 iron - that way you can go for distance!

Talking about catching someone stealing your car in the process...

At Collusus in Langley, last year, a friend of mine and one of his friends was there for a movie. They came out afterwards to their truck (a RAM 2500 with a significant amount of work done), and here they see this puny little guy working under the dash of the vehicle. Right in broad daylight - 2 in the afternoon on a Sunday!

So, they walk up to the guy (and both my friends are pretty big - one is 6'6" and 240 pounds... rather intimidating) and ask him what he's doing (full well knowing WTF is going on). The guy says (lies) that he's having some car trouble, but nothing to worry about.

My friends outnumber and greatly outsize the strung out punk and intend to give him a massive thrashing. They grab him, and just then, a van peels in from across the parking lot and screeches to a stop 20 feet away... the back door swings open and two guys with shotguns leap out while another guy holds a semi-auto pistol out the passenger's door.

The two guys with the shotguns apparently looked like they were doped up on something and were yelling wildly (foaming at the mouith) at my friends telling them to get the **** away and hand over the keys.

Not much choice in the matter there, so they handed over the keys and the thieves took the truck - my friends (along with myself) are rather skilled in the martial arts, and they felt that they had no real chance to survive that encounter if they didn't comply. Based on the discription, I would tend to agree. There are some fights you can't win without sufferring significant losses, and it is best to avoid those, if you can.

Apparently the truck was found weeks later, a little worse for wear.

All in all, not what you expect on a Sunday afternoon at the movies.

Of course, the moral of the story is that even when you think you are alone, others may be nearby that you just can't see - and that's a danger you need to be wary of when you take a situation to that level.

Good job bud...

I would have done the same thing, although I think I would find it really hard to hold back from killing the bastard.

The thing that worries me these days isn't the knife or guns...its the needles

With that story as a back drop, SBains is really lucky!

Good! Show that mother****er who's boss. Personally i think it should be LEGAL to shoot someone who's on your property, after warning them once and telling them to leave. People say all the time "yeah, but guns are soooo bad, if you make guns illegal then no one will have them"
Criminals don't care whehter guns are legal or not, they'll get them anyways. People should be able to defend their property with whatever they want. Someone comes on YOUR property, and won't leave, they shoudl legally be your bitch
But the law is too soft for somethign like that.
