ls1 vs cobra

I don't get you guy's, lets face it the cobra is faster than an ls1 in stock trim, just the way they came off the showroom!!

saying well, I'll get him next time with nitrous oxide.................

Not trying to offend anyone, just saying my opinion

Read the post again , Im saying given a bit longer of a run in that race ( was gaining steady ) , and or next time on " just motor" . THESE CARS ARE NOT AS FAST AS THEY ARE HYPED TO BE !! Or atleast not this perticular one Is what I am saying . Im a HUGE mustang fan and given some mods it will kick *** . I WOULD HAVE RIPPED IT A NEW *** ON NITROUS !! Brows over the thread again , I always give props where props are due

Fwiw like stated before the dude was changing gears funny . . . He was in third when I was in second just getting sweet . That still confuses me a bit but I dont know what there final gear ratios are . Plus with the bog off the line he could have been enough ahead to need a new gear , just doesnt seem right no mater how many times I replay it in my head . Next time I see him I will try to arrange another race with some people from the board so I dont have every mustang guy swinging by to call BS . He is a cool guy Im sure he will come out no prob . Hell If I lose , its cool with me . I dont think I will if it plays out similar to last time , even he will admit I was pulling before we had to let off . Just for ****s and giggles he can run me on spray at the end too .

Dont forget he had ballast in the form of a passenger too which really hurts my car . I almost bought one of those things

Twitch, I hope I get a good run with an 03 one day soon myself. Sounds like it was fun. And, sounds like I had no reason to doubt you that it was an 03...

Soooooo.................he got Twitch with a Supercharger. Who cares where it was installed. You take away the power adders, and I'll put my house on the LS1! Everyone brags about how fast the stangs are, but they are nothing but GT's with a blower. GM is putting the same numbers down NA with the vette. imagine that with a blower. would we be comparing them to a viper wich is NA 500 hp?

The only way I think u can compare the 03 cobra and a SS/ws6 would be to put the same size blower on the GMs and then see how bad the 03 cobras get beat. IMHO, and not to **** anyone off, but the Cobras don't get my respect because they don't deserve it! If ford puts out an NA off the lot commercial cobra that puts those #'s down then I will give them a second look. Until then, they get nothing but a from me. just my 2 cents

Chriss , with your ability to launch consistantly and with the high stall I think you would have had no problems it if it were the same race . Maybe we can both run him and see the diff . Im going to try to hook it up !!

I give the car props for sure , blower or no blower the fact that ford put forged internals in it is awsome . The only thing I really dont like is the weight of the things . Coupes must be lighter though . They have an advantage on there rearends too , I would kill for an old school 8.8 in the *** of my transam . I cant state enough that side by side , full throttle I was gaining ground once the stupid launching was over . When he changed gears , I gained ground . The ONLY explination other than "there not as fast as people think " is that he was lugging it a bit more and it was costing him . I know he has had the car for a while so he should shift no problem by now but you could say the same thing with my launch , or lack of
