get a new carb a holley 600 cfm vaccum secondary will be right up ur alley , and get some camel hump heads if u can find them .. their cheap.. and get a performer RPM intake from edelbrock

then realize that the 305 will never go fast .. and buy a 350 bottom end and swap over all ur goodies

Camel hump heads won't work worth **** on a 305. The combustion chamber size is too big and it will lower the comp ratio even lower which is already probably under 9:1. Don't waste your time with internal engine mods with the 305 just stick to bolt-ons that you can later transfer to a 350 of some sort.

One time I put a rv cam aluminum intake and a holley 650cfm vac secondary that was tuned real nice. With headders and exhaust it was decent. Would have made a real nice driver too but the oil line to the gauge burnt in half and I spun a bearing or eight, after doing a few hot laps. (never use the nylon lines!) Limped the car home 25km after that. This can be easily acomplished in one day for under $300 (except exhaust). other worthy mods might be 1.6 ratio rockers and msd or other ignition upgrades witch can be swaped over when you get a 350. Good luck.
