I wouldnt cut them , go with Springs or fully adj coil overs . With shorter travel you will want to have a stiffer rate . You Will need an Adj Panhard rod to center your rear again and Control arm relocation brackets to keep proper squat out back and maintain traction . I would also recomend new shocks with or without lowering as the stock ones just plain suck .

Lowering your car will give you added handling, and your car's rollover possibility will be reduced drastically as the center of gravity will be closer to the ground.
Whatever you do, do not cut your stock springs. Go with the full kit of aftermarket lowering springs. Eibach lowering kits are the best. You might also have to get adjustable shocks (Koni's are great adjustables and these will cost 1100 dollars for a set of 4).
Hope the info helps,

There are other kits out there for those wanting even better performance. even with 600+ lb/inch springs on the front the ride isn't that bad... and there are a couple of coil sets out there with spring rates in that ballpark.
The first thing you need to ask yourself is what you want to do with your car (autocros, road racing, drag racing, pure street, show, or some combination).
The second thing is to decide how much to spend. A fully adjustable full coil over setup with matched swaybars, panhard rod, control arms, and bushings will offer the most potential but at the highest cost.
If you just want to ride low without enhancing handling you can cut the stockers (Not sure if I would want to cut 2" off) or go with the eibach sportline kit which is a 2"+ drop. If you do go with a big drop I would recommend new shocks as the stock deCarbons may not offer enough dampening to prevent bottoming out.
Maybe Payam will sell you his Sportline setup.

Payam is sideway_into_3rd....like I told you today..do not cut the springs...and go with a pro-kit or BMR springs...they provide a good drop without sacrificing future mods..like longtubes..you told me you want longtubes so saying that be wise on what kit you go with...I'll like into some prices for you from SLP, BMR and prokit...those are the three best choices for peformance wise...I'll also check on a lid and other stuff you...but don't impluse buy..I can get your very good prices...

If you want low and cheap get the suspension techniques like I have, very stiff ride though. You will feel everything in the road, but I am still waiting to bottom out or rub my tires for the first time when driving. I do how ever rub some speedbumps.
edit: We should get a gp on some shocks in a few months when I have some money to waste

Hi kal2k
For what it's worth I've been told that as a rough rule of thumb for every inch the spring is shorter than stock it should be at least 20% stiffer. So for a spring 2" shorter should be aprox 40% stiffer. So the guys are correct cutting coils is just not a good idea.
Just my $0.02 worth.
PS. If you want to set your car up to handle as good as it looks go over to LS1.com and read some of the posts in the Autocross forum.
