Theres a new job posting at my work. The postition is "Marketing Assistant and Event Co-ordinator" and the Law Firm is Bull, Housser, & Tupper. You can see what the firm is like at www.bht.com. Here's a copy of the job description. Let me know if your interested.

BULL, HOUSSER & TUPPER
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position: Marketing Assistant and Events Co-ordinator
Reporting to: Marketing Manager
Special Event Co-ordination - (Client and BH&T)
• Assist with organization and co-ordination of events, including scheduling, budgeting,
invitations, announcements, public relations, logistics, and co-ordination of written or
other presentation materials; employ creativity and fresh ideas.
• Liaise with venue, caterers and other suppliers as necessary.
• Liaise with organizing lawyer and others in group; keep organizing lawyer fully
informed on progress of event.
• Maintain database information related to all events.
• Ensure appropriate follow-up with clients and guests.
• Attend event as hostess and on-site contact.
• Seek feedback on success of event and suggestions for improvement.
• Prepare debriefing report including budget/actual summaries.
• Co-ordinate promotional gifts and prizes.
• Work with lawyers to co-ordinate other client entertainment activities as they arise.
Ticket Management
• Liaise with lawyers to assign tickets.
• Ensure, together with Marketing Manager and Chair of Business Development
Committee, effective use of tickets.
• Consider ways of improvement in ticket use, provide summary of usage to Business
Development Committee.
Database Management
• Maintain up-to-date client records and mailing lists (with Marketing Co-ordinator).
• Maintain event-related aspects of database.
• Maintain lawyers’ individual business development activity records.
Donations
• Evaluate and administer donation program (together with Marketing Manager).
• Maintain Donations binder and index.
Sponsorships
• Evaluate and administer firm sponsorships (together with Marketing Manager.
• Maintain Sponsorship binder and index.
• Co-ordinate sponsorship (arrange signage, hand-outs, etc.).
• Liaise with client to supply necessary material.
• Co-ordinate lawyers to attend event.
• Maintain record of sponsorships (event, client, cost, benefit), provide summary to
Marketing Manager.
General Administrative
• Bills, letters, memos as required.
• Maintain up-to-date records and files of all activities.
• Track all expenses against marketing budget.
Team Support
Provide back-up support to the Marketing Co-ordinator in the following areas:
• production of seminar materials;
• creation/updating of Lawyer Biographies;
• creation of PDF’s;
• creation of Power Point presentations;
• Greeting Cards.
Qualities
Will be expected to demonstrate:
• a high level of initiative, responsibility, organization and attention to detail;
• an ability to prioritize projects and work with minimal supervision;
• a professional image;
• sensitivity to law firm culture; pleasant, persistent yet non-threatening;
• an ability to work with people at all levels;
• availability for flexible hours (to prepare for and attend events);
• desire to work as part of the marketing team.
Skills
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Technology skills – Microsoft Windows, Word, PageMaker, marketing database
programs, Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Experience in event management in Vancouver (existing network of contacts
preferred).
• Creative ability to “entertain with flair”.

Wow! That's alot! My friend is killer at that stuff and he would be perfect for the job. He has had his own website, 2 or 3 of his own businesses and 3 or so real jobs. I will let him know but I bet he's too young.

How old is he?

If he's 20 or older I dont see it being a huge issue. As long as his resume is good and he can present himself well... all should be fine.

I was wondering if you guys get coffe from Canterbury?? I seem to remember seeing orders for that company.

If I had 2 or 3 businesses I would not need this job

He had 'em, they came and went. Valet, had a very successful domain name he had to sell, painting etc. He's only 18.

Ya we do order coffee from them. Its amazing how much stuff we go through here. Like paper and coffee.... unbelievable!

Yeah i thought I recognized that company name. I used to do deliveries but I never got out to your place. I have been to tons of places but they just keep me locked up in the warehouse now. I think that some of the hottest brods I have seen out doing deliveries have been receptionists at law firms or big office buildings. I have to get out and do more deliveries
