Are you getting new plates as well, or diod you return the old ones. If you get in an accident it usually stays with that liscence plate and if you get a new one within a year or two, you will start that plate with 25%?? HOwever, if you trade the second plate in and/or try to get new plates all of the claims outstanding or you "correct" premium rate follows that one.

It seems like ICBC is somehow cross-referencing your account with your parents' account .

My dad is a certified ICBC Autoplan agent and can get your paperwork/insurance sorted out, email me for his contact info. He insures all my friends cars including Craig (Draco) from the board. He'll even come to where the car is so you don't have to commute .

Icky Bicky recently changed thier rules to punish people who got into accidents in the past, in someone elses car and didn't have to pay for it.
When I was 16, eleven years ago, I got into an accident with my parents car, and they penilized them for it. I had to pay my folks back. That was ICBC's rule then, only go after the person who owns the vehicle.
Last year when I went to put some plates on my Camaro, they tell me that I'm at a 5% penalty! When I had previously 40% off!
I fought them on it and told them I had already paid my penalty with the person who owned the vehicle. They said it wasn't good enough and they were going to do it anyhow. They were going after everyone who had been in a accident and wasn't penilized.
I still fought and threatened legal action - and they backed down almost immedietly!

This is different than your story as that, you weren't even driving your parents cars.
Your case should be just a simple mistake and easily fixed

Now that is a useful piece of info. My gf roller her mother's car 2 or 3 years ago and I imagine she will be getting a car soon. It would really suck if she had to pay for an accident that is already being paid for by her mother's insurance.
