Help with Windows ( Transfering Program )
Help with Windows ( Transfering Program )
Im moving all my stuff onto discs to swap into a new computer and I would like to keep "Word Perfect 10" because I have alot of text files. The Sony and IBM's word processing programs ( cant remember the names ) dont open the files or when they do its all jumbled up.
Does anybody know if there is any way I can save this program to disc and re install it on the new operating system or do I have to go buy a word perfect 10 from the store ?

Re: Help with Windows ( Transfering Program )
Save it as a back-up so it'll bypass all the copy right crap (like not copying some files) then save to disk or E-mail it to yourself. That sometimes works
or
pier to pier network and have the computer that your downloading to set to remote administrator.
or
download it from the interweb along with all the cracks. You'll probable have the best cance of sucsess with this one

Re: Help with Windows ( Transfering Program )
I tried the windows XP transfer thing and ended up putting the old hard-drive in the new machine and then just did a copy and paste. Much easier than ****ing around with networking etc. Depending on how you installed the program you may be able to just copy&paste the whole folder and it will be fine.
Re: Help with Windows ( Transfering Program )
I doubt you will be able to tranfer Wordperfect to the new computer without reinstalling it. What I would do is open up your Wordperfect documents, click "Save as" and see if there is an option for RTF (Rich Text Format). This is a more universal file type that may allow you to open the files with other programs.
