Fired up options?

Looking to mod the 02 firehawk but I bought the extended warranty, I heard I can sell it and it's for sale. Not gonna worry about it. This bird has the LS1 with the LS6 manifold. I want the LS6 heads and cam package that the ZO6 has. Incase anyone wants to know what the Bilstein suspension consists of, hear it is; hollow 35mm front swaybar significantly reduces body roll. It has revised endlinks, reinforced body mount brackets and firmer bushings. Progressive rate springs front and back, Recalibrated bilstein shock absorbers, rear lower control arms with firmer bushings and large 21mm rear swaybar and bushings. It does not come stock on the firehawks, it cost a further $1529,00. Base firehawk options include; composite firehawk hood and hood mounted heat extractors, 17 by 9 painted aluminum wheels, upgraded firehawk tires P275/40ZR17 SZ, stainless exhaust with twin dual tips. The 02 hawk has the blackwing air-lid with donaldson filter, badging plaque and key fobs. I added LOB package, custom decklid and floor mats and skip-shift eliminator. Mods sitting at home waiting to install; corvette frc's (help please Larry), Hotchkis STB, SLP sfc's, smooth bellows, MAF sensor, 160 thermostat, fan control switch and for those who want to call me a ricer I have purple neon under-car lights and decals to give a cross between the Fast and the Furious and muscle car. I know a lot of you will tell me to forget the decals and lights but I want my car to look unique.

I'm not keen on decals, but personally I have no problem with the neons. I like 'um.

Modding a Hawk.

Well, you have a FABULOUS foundation on which to build. I think you need to decide your priorities. Image, power or handeling. Money spent on the power will probably make the warranty and issue.

6 speed? If so, then get a Lou Saulzano short stick and an after market shifter ALTHOUGH, I have the SLP shifter and I like it. Sub frame connectors are a MUST. Great investment for the money. Lower the car with come Eibach springs.

LS1 Edit is not needed until you change the cam and / or heads.

Just my opinion but Camaro Chris is probaly the guy to speak to for LS1 stuf.

Power, handling and image are all important ingredients to a nice car. I do have the hurst 6-speed but I will get a short-shifter soon. I like the Pro 5.0 or the B+M Ripper, I be talkin to spo/mike for the shifter. I'll have to save up awhile for the heads and cam. That'll give me time to burn off the warranty. No bottle for now but wait till I run up the mileage first. I recieved my personalized license plates; IBCNYA. A very appropriate sayin from a car cruising by you.

PS, no need to lower the car. The bilstein package lower's the car an inch. That's low enough for me, damn speed bumps.

Steve, I'll be glad to help with all those installs EXCEPT the bloody neons... you can't do that to a 'Hawk in my shop!

Call me in a couple weeks, I'll be taking in the Firehawk Fest in Sacramento, back about Oct. 1st.

Thanks Larry, your awesome. I wish I could go to the firehawkfest. No more holidays this year. I heard the fest at Norwalk had a convoy with a police cruiser heading it. They had streets blocked off for the convoy to run stop signs. We'll never see that up here. See you soon Larry.

Don't worry about the neons Larry, I'll hide the switch and promise never to shine them on you. Except at a nightime car-show, which there never is.

I echo Shaun's comments - you have a NICE platform to work on. Neon's are IMHO and decals can be as well if done tastelessly. But one man's is another man's , so if you like that look, then go for it.

You're going to need a bullet-proof suspension to complement your potential engine combo...having a full Z06-like setup without the appropriate suspension will have you going nowhere fast. SFCs, LCAs, lowering brackets, even a torque arm will do wonders for your ride.

Keep us posted on the progress .

BTW - make sure you install some more cup holders...you'll need them for your rum and coke cocktails .

Ha-Ha, four cup holders are plenty. I said I don't drive on rye and coke but I can sip a couple of ciders and not get impaired. Yo Lucifer, did you see my little rap I wrote for you on Sandeep's or Payam's thread. It was deleted but I saved it for you next time you push my button. Gotta go now, it's quitting time.

I saw the rap, and replied with my own....THAT'S why the thread was deleted . In your defense, my reply wasn't really a rap, it was more of a sarcastic-insult-swear-as-much-as-you-can post. But I've grown up since then and hopefully you have too...

My rap was sarcastic, only slighty insultive and definately no swearing. It's all in good fun. I grew up a long time ago, I just don't act that way. I guess I'm glad I didn't see what you wrote Lucifer, you flamed me, shamed me, played the game with me, took aim at me and made it rain on me, but when you cheated it was deleted now you are defeated.
