Does anyone have any car audio connections?

I want to buy two 12" Alpine Type R dual voice coil subwoofers for the custom fibreglass enclosure that's going into my car. Now, I found a pair for 300 but the dude was a little sketchy to buy from (on my VW board) and another pair of Infinity Kappa Perfect subwoofers. They were a little more $ at 360. I have money saved up from countless days of staying in and saving my money, I have accumulated enough money to buy one. I am borrowing the money for a second from my father, and have 360. Now, he has this thing where he's always right, and is telling me he has a bad feeling about the transaction (with some dude from Revscene) on the Infinties, and thinks something is going to happen. Now he has got me all paranoid so I'm going to let a good deal pass me by and I have to buy some brand new. I don't need them installed, I just need to know if any of you have hookups to buy car Audio (namely subwoofers) for a good price? Let me know and it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Why do you need two? Your car isn't any bigger inside than a house bathroom. One will be more than enough. Save your money for that hearing aid later on in life. Those sumbitches are $1500 per ear!

Do I have any car audio connections? I think I've got an RCA jack around here somewhere.

buy a pair of 12" Shiva subwoofers from Adireaudio.com. They are very well priced, sound amazing, and have awesome output capability. They are not very well known outside the DIY audio market - but this is a good thing because they beat the crap out of most of the mainstream ****.

i agree completely, why do u need 2 12's?
i dont wanna question ur intelligence, but what music do u listen to? this affects things a lot, the size affects the frequency range, me, i listen to rock, older stuff like zeppelin, floyd, newer stuff too, so i only need a 10", 12 is too big, and is more for lower frequency crap like rap and d'n'b

also, 2 of them? thats a lot of sub power u got there, i have 1 10"
and its absolutely perfect for me... this is just my opinion, are u sure u need such a 'big' set up?

also, u gotta think of ur amp, u need a beefy amp to properly run 2 12's...

Well, the car came with 2 12 inch subwoofers, and I was planning on putting them in a firbeglass enclosure. I think he has started building it to accustom the 2 12s, and since I thought about it long and hard I decided they're too old to put into a brand new enclosure. I figured I should look for new ones to fit inside the holes he's going to make (or already has maybe). I picked up a pair of Infinties tonight after being sketched out by the Forum seller, and everything turned out great. I have Infinity Kappas in back and perfects in front so it's not like the system will be all bass. I usually listen to my music with less bass than most of my friends with their stock systems, but on occasion I like to pound it. That's why I got these subwoofers that are SQ-based but pack a bunch. When I'm 100% done with the system it will be 100% Infinity/Alpine, but first I have to get some other stuff on my car fixed. (aka alignment, new wheels, light, replace side striping, cut polish. )

I have a guy in Burnaby who is going to do my install. He's a family friend, but he's also very busy. I can recommend your friend to all my friends who need stuff done. When my friend gets his 5.0 he is going to baby it and he won't do the same install job he did on his 86 Supra. HE wants it done the best and is working his *** off to affrod it. I will let you know, and thanks for hte info!

How much do you think a well-built Fibreglass box should cost (material and labour)? I wanna see if I got a good deal.

You should go down to a musician's store and check out their bass speakers. You could get a Peavey black widow speaker for probably quite a bit less than what car audio places charge for their "name brand" woofers. Not only that, when you buy pro audio gear, it will never ever blow up and they tend to rate the power better.

The subwoofers may be a hole, but if I get a Camaro, there would be a f'in' crater there instead.
Can't afford one for at least 2-3 years so no point in leaving old beat-up subs in my exsisting car.
