man ... ur buddy is all talk ..

whats he even scared of ?? my car only has a 350 in it .. bone stock engine .. factory heads .. some exh and a li'l cam .. thats it .. i dont even have aftermarket heads .. im sure no match for the Z06 !!! let alone an oldschool powerhouse like the chevelle !!!

man i tell ya . .none of these new injected cars are a match for oldschool carburated HORSEPOWER .. all these computers and sh*t rob a lot of power .. if i could .. i'd put a carb on my 350 too .. then it would go fast

tell him i'll race him for $50 .. 2 to 1 odds .. so if i lose he gets $100 ...

The whole carb vs. fuelly is a very controversial topic. I was at a brithday party in December and Ron Parr (local engine master) happened to be there. I asked him just out of curiousity how much he'd build me a motor for and His reply was "put a carb on it and we'll talk."

i too have a simple Z28... I'll race your buddies Chevell for 50 bux.. but 10 to 1 odds... if i win, i'll get 50.. if he wins.. he gets 500... i have a N/A motor... we'll both race on street tires... i just have money coming out of my ***, so i'll race him... AND he can run a 100 shot NOS if he likes...

ill put my lonley ol' 2nd gen against any who want to tangle! lol dont have to worry about a 2nd gen do we?? lol although a ss454 chevelle driven properly with current technology street tires will beat a z06, just because the car needs more traction to operate it, doesnt mean a thing, its just because that car has real power and REAL torque!lol cant beat torque, and torque needs gobs of traction

that car with a real driver would be a low 12 sec car with slicks and a 4 speed. to put things in perspective, my uncle has a 70 396 ss nova 4 speed, with a L88 crate motor from 72 427 stock w/ iron heads swapped in. stock 12 bolt. stock other then the motor, the car on 70's slicks and launching at a modest soft 2800rpm to keep the tranny in the car, ran a best of 11.88 at 119mph at mission in the day. old dominates the new, and that motor was only rated at 425hp the 454 was the step up from that at 450hp. its the driver and setup. an low 12 sec car can easily be made into a low 13 sec car with only a few errors. its all up to the driver.

Payam cocky no way!

There are plent of carbed cars that will smoke us EFI guys....just look at Al Hitchcock....looks like he'll be the first guy in the 6's at Mission this year. Not that we'll ever be in that league.

The guy I bought my car off has a 455 4spd Buick Skylark and that rans 12's in stock form and modern street tires.

lol
yea Andy.. you're right.. but read what you wrote.. it used to take BIG BLOCK 454's and 455's to get that much power... now there is V6 and Straight 6 cars making the same power.... if not.. even SB 350's... Newer age is where its at. UNLESS you're going ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL OUT..... then it all depends on the setups.

Angry

andy .. ur off in ur own little world again . if u like carbs so much WHY THE FACK DID U SELL UR 82 !?

UR TALKING BIG BLOCKS HERE !!! WTF MAN ! ur comparing apples to oranges .. or that whoever whos going 6s !? so WHAT?! thats a drag car .. READ MY LIPS ANDY : IM TALKING ABOUT STREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET CARS ... CARS LIKE URS AND MINE !

for f*cks sake, look at the new ZL1 camaro concept, its a big block EFI, it puts out well over 700 hp STOCK !!! now go mod that and tell me EFI sucks

andy .. for the last time .. CARB MOTORS ARE OLD .. its like saying ur 386 is better than my pantium III ...

carb motors are only good for all out drag racing

just look at ur old 82 .. it had a carb !? did it go fast ?! NO .. a stock V6 4th gen would've sliced it ... how much gas did it guzzle ?! A LOT !!! CASE DISMISSED

andy, a few more things: call me cocky if u want . i just challanged him to a fair and square race .. i dont see whats so cocky about that

2) u talkin about all out drag cars in the 6s ?? with big block carb motors ?!? BIG WHOOPIE .. just cuz noone in BC has a fast EFI car doesnt mean they dont exist... gee i wonder if DON MURREY has a carb under his hood .NO ! guess what .. EFI !!! and there are full weight SMALL BLOCK 4th gens well into the 8s .. with EFI !! NOT A CARB . but EFI .. im talking FULL WEIGHT, SMALL BOCK .. dont come back with another 6 second drag car reply .. thats just IGNORANT

3) do u not enjoy the gobs ur hp and driveability and gas milage u get out of ur TA ?! u think if ur 82 was putting out the samehp .. it would get more than 6 mpg and wouldnt drive like a drag car !?
