LS1_bc, that's not a bad idea... we can pass around the y-pipe... Lol!

Twitch, I don't have the link right now and I am too lazy to go after it! But, its on LS1.com in the engine section. Oh never mind - I'll get it. Here it is...

The first is cutout open, then closed.

Place to get these headers?

In the original post there were some prices quoted. If possible could you please let me know where you got these from? If you do not want to post, could you please reply to:

shawn.speer@coors.com

Thanks, the only place I have seen these is on e-bay.

Check www.LS1.com and go to the GP and Sponsor section and look for a Group Purchase by Redline Performance.

maybe if we all (or some of us) went in on it we could get cheaper shipping. i can't see the prices getting any lower for these as they are dirt cheap. we could also have a day where we all get together and put them all in. from what ive read they are fairly simple to put in. one guy said he did it byhimself and didn't have to remove anything but the oil dipstick.

500 american is only 670 canadian. that is ****ing cheaper than i can get hookers and a y uncoated for. this is a good price we should wait another month, and read some more about them from the people getting theirs now and see how they like them.

Yeah, I agree with you. They seem tough to beat for the price. Gains so far seem to be about 15-18 rwhp with race pipe (and mid-20's if your'e H/C), but I've only seen a couple installs. Some cars get 30 or so, lightly modded, but I can't explain that success...

There are SOME minor install difficulties I've heard of, but darn near every header has some problem... and it varies for each car. One guy will have NO problems, but the next guy will.

Usually have to remove the oil filter (might as well change the oil...), the oil divertor, steering linkage (Knuckle in column), and in some cases, grind a small portion of the block. The ypipe may need some shimming to keep from banging. Usually one or all of these issues arise for any LT, whether it is FLP, Hooker, Jet Hot, Pacesetter, etc.. SLP go in better, but then they hit a lot of speed bumps and bang. Kooks and QTPs I haven't heard problems about, but they are 3 times the cost. And personally, I'm too cheap.

Pacience , LS1 prices are falling !! Theres a gp on patriot performance stage II heads , complete with NO CORE for 1200 usd a set going on right now . These heads have proven themselves to put down killer numbers and 1/2 the price . Its just a matter of time befor all the headers come down like 30 % to become competative again imo . BBK just relesed a set of ls1 shorties that actually gain a bit and edelbrocks got some longtubes out also . . . . kinda weird because edelbrock owns bbk . Anyways competition means the prices are only getting better
