Let me see if I understand what you are saying, Ellis. Say that under full throttle your tranny shifts at 5000.... so you install weights or sprigs which cause it to shift at 4000, then when you shift manually at say 6500, it will shift by 6600 rather than 6900?
You are not saying that the shift will improve as in being harder, just more immediate, correct?
If that is true, neat. I have mine shifting at 7000 automatically so I never bother manually shifting it while racing, but it is good to know.

ya thanks, im not worried about the tranny. me and my dad build our own th350's and th400's. im upgrading to a th400 next year. wont need a new governor next year, going full manual with a brake maybe. ford 9" and a bunch of other goodies, ill be looking at some 11's next year n/a woot
Armen shut up, my best was time 12.8@106mph & my best mph was 12.99@109.39 wtih stock torque converter, after the TC I ran 12's all day, all were 12.8-12.90 at 105-106 mph cuz the tranny was hooped.
