Beverage of Choice?
For all you Whiskey drinkers, here's one you have to try - a good time would be new years.
My wife is always getting me to make her slushy drinks to have in one of those fancy tall Martini glasses - I wanted something like that too, but something a bit more up my alley.
Here it is.
Whiskey Slush!!
- 1/2 gal(s) Whiskey
- 4 - Tea Bags
- 2 cup(s) Boiling Water
- 12 oz Orange Juice Concentrate
- 12 oz Lemonade Concentrate
- 8 cup(s) Cold Water
- 2 cup(s) Sugar
Directions: Boil 2 cups of water with 4 tea bags. Let steep until strong tea. Add 12 oz of orange juice concentrate, 12 oz lemonade concentrate, 1/2 gal whiskey, 8 cups cold water, and 2 cups of sugar. Add more cold water and sugar to taste. Mix well. Place whole mixture in freezer until slushey. Serve in any large cup for a great time.
It may look like this makes a lot, but if you are a steady drinker all night - you won't have much trouble polishing it off.
Can easily be had by 2 people.
Enjoy!

Mohito
-White rum (preferably a good Cuban rum)
-1/2 tsp sugar
-Juice of 1/2 lime
-mint - crushed stalks, leaves left to float (preferably mohito mint)
-topped off with soda or mineral water
-serve in hiball
dry white wine
scotch whiskey, neat. I cannot understand why anyone would destroy the flavour of whiskey with anything other than ice and or water.

I had a few ginger ale slurpee's with Crown Royal added in the summer. Those were nice.
Do a search in the lounge for the drink post. Tons of good drinks there. My faves would be Crown Royal, Bek Se Ju, COLD Sake, I don't mind wine, and beer is always good.
White Tiger and LIIT are my fave mixed drinks...

I like of bit of everything, really depends on the occassion though, and of course, not all at once.
Wine, with dinner or at a swish wine bar: Almost always red, preferably a nice Crianza from the Rioja region of Spain, or a Chilean Chianti.
Beer, at the pub or chillin at home: Preferably local brewed pale or amber ale, or Czech lagers.
Hi-ball, at the bar/club: Rye and Ginger, and that's about it.
Whisky, not Whiskey. Whiskey is Irish
But, agreed, a good single malt should not be ruined with anything. Although some malts react well to a small dash if water (no more than a few drops), helps to losen the flavour. I tend to drink Bowmore or Glenmorangie, although I can't ever say no to a nice 18 year Macallan.

That amount of whiskey between to people is asking for trouble.
Did you know over 40,000 russian people die of alcohol poisening every year? What a killer drink.
I heard about this russian vodka drinking contest and the guy that won dropped dead 15 minutes later. I guess Matt is immune.

Still do-able over the period of an afternoon/evening.
