SS Suzie in So. Calif

Hi everyone, I havent been around for awhile. I have been a Camaro lover since my high school days back in the late 70's. My first Camaro was a 67 RS Camaro that I bought back in high school and I slowly restored. My second Camaro I bought brand new in 2000, that was a 6 speed Z28. That was a fun car! I sold that to trade up to a 2002 SS Camaro, also a 6 speed car I just had to have. Now that I am getting close to 50 yrs old I dont know if I want to get the new Camaro or splurge and get my dream car which is a Corvette. Is there any Camaro clubs in or near the Ventura County area?

Talking SS Suzie

Thanks for all the replys... I am surprised to hear the comment about just another 50 yr old in a Vette! Is that really a turn off? It isnt to me, myself... If I buy one, it will be to make myself happy! Not to impress anyone else. And if I do buy a Vette it will be a Z06 or I wish I could afford the ZR1. I am a woman that loves performance in my cars!

Cool

Ah I wouldn't blame you. I'd buy the Z06 if I had the chance! Very cool you row your own gears too!

Well if you buy one of the ls7 zo6's you wll definitely not be dissapionted in the performance. It is one of the fastest cars you can buy, and GM rates it at 28mpg highway. I have never had the chance to ride in one, but I seen one take off ; dam did it sound nasty. It is a monster of a car; with some drag radials, exhaust work and a good driver it can do 10s in a 1/4. If I was not a poor college student I would buy one.

Have you thought about buying a non-Z06 C6 (or C5) corvette and having a twin turbo kit put on it?
It would cost less than a Z06, increase fuel mileage, and could make more power than a ZR1

Wink Thanks for the replys on the Vette

I am seriously looking right now at the C5 to C6 used Vettes. Mine will have to be a 6 spd and very low miles on it. A Z06 would be awfully nice though. I dont know much about how to increase performance and horsepower on these cars. Costs involved. And now I need to find me a new mechanic, since my local Chevrolet dealer closed down after 40 years! I need a good Chevy man in my life!
