Searching for Knowledge

Hi there, I'm from Texas and I own a 2001 Z28. Bought the car with 60,000 and now I'm at 91,000. Unfortunately I don't really know a lot about cars, so I have to have other people do things for me >.< But hey, it's never too late to learn. I try and baby the car as much as I can, but honestly it's my daily driver and nursing school has me driving around all over. Any advise is appreciated, looking forward to getting some knowledge so I can start trying to do stuff on my own

Re: Searching for Knowledge

Thanks for the welcoming everyone. I appreciate any help I can get seeing as how this is my first 8 cylinder. I love my car :-D unfortunately I'm still living in a little one bedroom apartment so we're limited on tools and stuff but hey we all gotta start somewhere....working on changing spark plugs as we speak...lol damn the ones on the passenger side. I can't fit my chubby little arm in it lol I think my husband's arm is going to look like he got attacked by a cat by the time he's done.

Welcome to the site.

Take the whole set of coils, bracket and all, off of the tappet cover on that side. Makes plug access much better.

Re: Searching for Knowledge

Thanks for the advice about the spark plugs...we were really just doing it as a preliminary thing to check for any bad ones but they weren't too bad except the guy who did them last put them in too tight...2 of them cracked on the way out >.<

As for where in Texas, we live in West Texas. How about you?

Yea I definitely will soon...nothing special done to it yet though. Finally got to wash it, it's been hell with nothing but wind and dirt for the past couple of months.

Cool Re: Searching for Knowledge

Greetings from the Third Coast! One thing I would suggest is to create a signature of your car (year, mods, track times if ya got 'em, etc.) & that'll help everyone help you even more. That would be the info. ya see at the bottom of the responses sent around this site. Everything I've learned I learned from others on here. There are ladies on here that have given good advice so don't be bashful about sharing your experience. I've bought & sold parts on here as well. This site is a treasure chest! Welcome aboard.
