just joined the forum - it's great!

have a 1995 z28 convertible, 6 speed, with 9k original miles/clean carfax, all stock - just picked it up from original owner, and changed out the smog pump (which got rid of service engine soon light), changed all the fluids and filters, put on seat covers (leather in perfect shape!), changed out the original tires (which I have saved, no cracking but very hard) with v-rated Toyo Proxes, replaced the AC compressor and drier (now have AC!)... changed hoses and thermostat as a precaution as well - picked it up for $8,800 through craiglist and am now into it for less than $11k - what a deal!

Got to see pictures.... sounds like an amazing find.

Did you get the AIR pump done under the recall? If not, you might be able to get GM to reimburse some of the cost. Or did the carfax show the recall had already been done?

 

thanks for the comments, guys! I'll put up pics... the smog pump was on recall - dealer covered the parts and labor on it - and no, didn't show up on the carfax as an open recall - when I bought the car, service engine soon light was not on - started going on soon after I got it and it was that pump - after replaced, went out and stayed out
