Hello All! (93 Camaro Owner)
Hey everyone. Just wanted to drop in and say hi to fellow owners. I hope to get some great information here and walk away from this with a great experience. Let me just get a moment of your time to explain how my story started...yesterday.
Well, here goes. I live in Flint, Michigan. Yesterday I went south and headed out towards Detroit to pick up my first Camaro. A 1993 4 speed with O/D. It's just a base with the 3.4 (I know, I know) but regardless, it's not too shabby on gas and I enjoy driving it...while I can.
On the way home driving north 75 last night, my alternator bearing (I think that's what it was anyways) was ringing really loud and of course, knowing me, I thought it was a tensioner pulley. Well, the alternator ended up dying out and costing me a $190 dollar tow. Luckily, I didn't pay too much for the car. I bought the car for $950 outright cash and as the car sits now it has 173,xxx on it. So like I said, not too bad at all, especially compared to some crazy people's prices around here in Flint.
So today, I worked on this morning and ended up throwing a new/used battery in her and an alternator to boot (I didn't wanna mess with going back and forth). She starts up and lives again! Now just to get her insured and plated, haha. (Although the ringing is still there...this was a used alternator and hopefully this one isn't bad too).
Anyways, sorry to keep you all reading so long. Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I'll start roaming through the boards now, getting answers and asking questions for what answers I can't find. Peace!
