MA Labor Law Question...

Just a simple one actually. Does Overtime pay kick in after 8hrs in a day or after a 40hr work week? Anyone know?

40 hours in a week if you are an employee at will.

There may be project or county rates that vary depending on your occupation.

I think its both. Anything more than 8hrs a day is OT, and if you work a 5th 8hour day, all 8 hours are OT

It was this way for a couple of places I've worked, but I do know there can be differences

Employers can do however they want... I thought you were just looking for the actual lagal requirement for OT.

If you take a paid sick day, but work the next five days, you could have 48hours of regular time as OT wages only apply to time actually worked, not time paid.
