hmmm... Where do I start... I have a Mustang and want to get the windows tinted. I just checked the state laws for NJ and the law said no tint on the windshield or front side windows, but any on the rear side windows and the rear window. If I left the windshield and front side windows stock and tinted the 2 little windows and the rear window really dark, would that look stupid, ok, or good? I did a search and came to the conclusion that 5% is really dark, should i do that or lighter? Also, is there any specific brand for tints? Which looks the best? Where/what kind of place does tint? (if you can't already tell, i'm clueless about this tint stuff haha) Thanks.

EDIT: oops, I forgot a question... Around how much would it cost? If anybody has pics of different kinds or %'s of tint please post

In my opinion partial tint looks stupid, but if u want to just pay off the cops, and get the whole thing tinted.. go for it and go 5% .

If I just pay the ticket off are they gonna make me remove the tint, or show evidence that I removed it? If I can just pay it I'll definately do it Oh yeah, wouldn't I fail inspection???

 

What, nobody knows anything about tint or has any ideas

 

i didnt read what color is ur car if its black go dark 10 or 5
if not go with 10 back and bout 25-35 sides
if u go lighter on the sides like that u shouldnt be botherd by most cops and if u dont have to have ur windows up for rain or a/c just keep em down that ill help u out too

I honestly don't know how they do it there in South Jersey. If it's a fix it ticket law you will be all good, and any rookie cop can sign it off, and u just pay $10-$15.
If it is a "Illegal tint law", where tint itself is just cause to pull u over, then u are ****ed. where I used to live, just changed the tint laws, so I took my tint off ($75 every stop gets expensive)

My car is mineral gray (like the pewter color) I don't think I would get bothered if i got the sides tintet not too dark, but like I said before if it is illegal on the sides, wouldn't I fail inspection?

UPDATE: I went to the place yesterday, my car is getting done tomorrow at 9... they said they needed my car for 4-5 hours Anyway, as of now I'm going with the partial tint, 5% on the little back windows and rear (none on the side windows)... that's the legal way to do it here... I would still like some opinions on the partial tint thing because I won't get it done if it's gonna look bad.

 

Partial tint looks horrible. And my last car cost about $100 to tint all around. If I were you I'd get something like 35% around then you could claim it was factory ;-)
