Thumbs up Hot cam kit

Not 100% sure of the time it would take him for the install. He installed one for me but I had the heads done at the same time, so of course it would not be the same cost labor wise. Just give him a call. A cam job is pretty straight forward. He should be able to give you a darn close estimate right over the phone. I can't imagine that it would take more than a day +/- a couple hours. I would venture to say that he could do it for $600-$750. Maybe less, so please don't take my word on pricing. Like I said, give him a jingle and see what he has to say.

Cool

You won't have to ask for anyone. "Sam" is a one man show, he will answer the phone. Just tell him I sent you.

Cool

I gave the shop (Max Auto) a call today just to shoot the breeze with Sam for a bit about his project that he has going and gave him a heads up that you might be calling him about the header gaskets and cam install. He said "great, no problem".

Just FYI

P+P heads

He really doesn't get into that unless it's for his personal toys, you can ask though. You might want to call ABT Machine in Holliston. They are strictly an automotive machine shop. I had my block and bottom end done there on my LT4 conversion and rebuild. They do good work, just ask Sam for their PH #.

Would be be able to do a cutout??

If not, does anyone have a shop near Framingham (or even Amherst....) that will install a cutout?

A cut out is child's play

It's just a cut and paste with a welder, no problem.

Besides machine work and tranny rebuilds, Sam can pretty much handle anything. His automotive knowledge and ability is quite extensive. He just doesn't have the time or equipment for that stuff. Let me know how you make out.

Right now I'm shopping around for prices on the install of the Hot Cam Kit......how much do you think he'll charge?

Thanks!

Yea he quoted me a price that I thougth was high (he said around $700 just for the cam, not including RRs, springs, etc...) so I might shop around for that...

However he totally fixed my car apparently!!! I guess I had FIVE exhaust leaks and like 6 of my 8 plugs were finger tight OR LESS

Anyways I haven't driven it but he said it's night and day, it's like a new car and I believe him....doing all this was a hassle and he was very nice throughout the whole ordeal!

Glad to hear it went well.

Just remember, cheaper isn't always better when looking for a good mechanic. Given the level of competence and service that Sam provides, his quote is a fair price. Good luck
